The ultra-slim Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T77 digital camera features a 3.0" widescreen LCD touch-screen display, optical SteadyShot image stabilization to compensate for camera shake, and Smile Shutter technology, which helps you capture a smile the moment it happens.

Luv my new camera!
It takes great pictures and is the perfect size to carry in my purse. The touch screen gets dirty easily but it is easy to function. The screen is a good size. Easy to share your pics.

I love this camera!
I bought this camera with the explicit intent of using as a 'pocket' camera - keeping it with me at all times so I could take pictures when I wanted, so I was looking for a fairly automated camera. The auto function is great and the camera sets itself up beautifully to automatically take the perfect picture, yet is easy to set up for yourself. I really like the large touch screen. The only con to this camera so far is that the red eye flash and the regular flash really are blinding as other reviewers have mentioned. Often get odd expressions on people's faces if the red eye flash goes off. I tend to keep this function off and fix the image later.

Sony Camera's sucks.
I have had this sony camera for a year now and I was very dissapointed witht the quality. Picture mostly have an orange glow. Forget about the steady shot it sucks. If you are shaking one bit the picture is not clear. That also goes for the person in the shot if it is moving than you can forget it. If you want my advice buy a cannon. They have better reputation and quality.

This is our third Cybershot to own in the past 5 years. We have loved them in the past and were impressed with all the features. The zoom is horrible on this camera. Pictures come out grainy when using the zoom. Outside the pictures are great, but life happens in both. We returned it after one week and are still searching for a good camera in this price range. We own a Digital SLR (Pentax) and love taking pictures. My husband is into messing with all the settings. Our previous cybershot took better pictures at a fraction of the cost. No matter what setting we used, the pictures were dark and grainy inside with the zoom. We had to get right up on the subject to get a clear picture. We expected more the price and were dissapointed. Lesson learned: more expensive and higher resolution (and zoom) does not equal a better camera!

Great super-compact point and shoot camera
Takes great pictures for a little compact camera. It even takes good short videos although you have to press a few menu items on the screen to get to that feature. The screen does get the fingerprints but I only really notice them when the camera is off. It's not an issue when reviewing pic's on the screen. You won't be dissappointed.

Love this camera
I bought the DSCW130 to replace an older model Cybershot which suddenly stopped working. So far I love it. It's very small, but once I got used to the size, I found it very easy to use. The photos are crystal clear and there's practically no shutter release delay. Highly recommend!

Not that great...
I bought this camera to replace my old Sony DSC-P93. I was very happy with that one, my only complaint was that it was too slow so my 2-year old son always looked blurry because he would move before the camera was done taking the shot. This camera was slightly faster, but still not as fast as some others I have seen (Canon seems to make especially fast cameras). But the quality of the pictures was very good, so I probably would have ended up keeping this camera. But there was one huge drawback which made me end up returning it: the camera does not offer a date stamp on the photos! That is an absolute necessity for me, so I couldn't keep the camera. I wish someone had mentioned that in one of the reviews I read before purchasing it!!!

Nice camera, good price
This is a nice camera with easy to use features. One caution is that the kit does not include the memory stck and without it the camera's picture numbers are very limited. Most people will also want some type of carrying case because of the smallness of the unit. This is also an additional expenditure. The bottom line is that when comparing prices, check for needed accessories

Great camera
This is a great Sony product. It is very easy to use, light weight and takes super pictures even of my Granddogs, no red eye! The battery re-charge station is a BIG improvement over older models with cords.

Very Pleased with Sony Cybershot
I am absolutely thrilled with this camera. I am still learning how to use it with all its options. It will take me a while to get totally familiar with how to best use this but I am so looking forward to learning.
Rating :
Good value, takes getting used to
This camera is worth the cost, but you have a steep learning curve. If you're willing to learn how to deal with the arcane menu system, you'll be able to take surprisingly sophisticated pictures. I've had it for a couple of months, and I just returned yesterday from a week in Hawaii, where I really had the chance to use it.
At the outset, let me say that I drastically misjudged the rate of power consumption. I gave it a full charge before departure, but with only moderate use, it was drained by day three of my vacation. I used the camera in the cell phone for the rest of the trip! This was my own fault. I should have taken the battery charger with me. My cell phone is a Verizon LG Dare, which does a good job at 3 megapixels. The Sony is, of course, 10 megapix.
Nevertheless, I keep asking myself how much more is the Sony giving me than I would get with the cellphone camera? I leave that up to the user to decide.
I ordered the special cable that allows me to view the Cybershot pictures on the HDTV. This is a must. I save my pictures on the PC using Picasa, the free software from Google.
Some critics say the pictures from the Cybershot DSCT300 are "noisey." I'm not sure what this means. I think that most people will be quite pleased with the results. I expect that with more familiarity with the camera, my results will improve.
As I said in the very beginning, this is not a "point and shoot" camera. It has a wide array of menus and adjustment options. Without learning what these options do, one is not making full use of the technology. It would be like driving a car in first gear.
Taking movies works best with a stable platform, especially when the zoom is in full effect. My son who is a professional videographer introduced me to the cheap monopod, which works great. They can be had for less than $20.

Great on the budget
This camera does not have automatic photo rotation, NO memory card or case included, and sometimes if you simply touch the slide-down part it turns on then back off again. Seller only gave 10 days exchange/return, and I did not see that in time, or i would have gotten a later version. Otherwise, color is great, handling superb.

I am very happy with the clear pictures this camera takes. The touch screen is very easy to use also. Great buy!

Not for Professional Photographers
1. This is not a camera for professional photographers. This IS a camera for those who take lots of outdoor shots, those who like the convenience of a small camera, and those who like Sony.
2. This is not a great camera for indoors/low light conditions. This is a great camera for action shots (when placed on the right settings).
3. I LOVE this camera for what I do, which is a lot of close up still life type shots. It hooks up to my HDTV and plays the most beautiful slideshows I've ever seen. The 8mp may be too much for some, but I tend to print large scale photos from my digital files, and the 8mp is PERFECT for me.
4. Being a Sony person, I have several MS Duo sticks laying around. Anyone who's got a kid with a PSP will know these aren't obsolete. I like the fact that the MS Duo isn't tiny, like some of the SD kin. I hate fubmling for a teeny-tiny little card and being afraid I'm going to lose it. I don't have that problem with this camera.
5. I really, really love the touch screen. It's big, beautiful, clear and responsive. I did put a screen protector on it as soon as I had it in my hands, so that it wouldn't get scratched. But it's stood up to 6 yr old hands many times without damage.
6. This camera is a great size for a 'Mom on the go' because it slips into a purse or back pocket very easily. The internal zoom has got to be one of the coolest things ever. I love that I can get the shot when others with their standard zooms can not.
7. All in all I would most certainly recommend this camera. It takes a little while to play with the settings and learn how to use it, but it's well worth it. It takes great photos, has a great form factor, and is very reliable.

Wish I had done more research...
This was the second digital camera that I have owned. My first one was also a Sony Cybershot, but it was very large and bulky. Since I didn't have problems with my first Cybershot, I decided to stick with Sony because it was an all around good brand. After doing some research for a couple of days, I finally settled on this camera. The touch screen seemed really high-tech and I liked how it came in black.
When I first got the camera, getting used to the touch screen didn't take too long. My main problem with the touch screen is that it gets dirty really fast. Also, simple things like turning off the flash would've just been one button push on my other camera, but with the touch screen everything takes longer to find. It's not fun to deal with, especially if you're a little tipsy LOL.
I love how small and light this camera is. It easily fits into my clutch or back pocket. I kind of regret getting black because when it gets scratched, you can really tell.
All in all, I feel like the picture quality was even worse than my previous camera. As I continued to use and get used to my camera, I wished that there were more features to let me maniuplate the camera settings. You can program this camera to "indoor" or "outdoor", but I wanted more control over the aperature and f-stop. It's a nice camera if you just want to snap and go, but next time I'll take more time when looking into a camera.
Make sure you get a memory stick for this as well, because the memory alone is pretty crappy. My favorite part of the camera is the ease with which it allows me to record small videos for YouTube. Other than that, I've used better cameras.

Best Camera I have ever owned!
My fiance purchased this camera for me for Christmas and I could not have asked for a better gift. It takes GREAT pictures, is easy to use, and I haven't had a blurry shot. If you are looking for professional photos, skip it, but it is the best you are going to get for your money with a point and shoot. The zoom is also AMAZING. I can get things all the way from the front of my yard to the back of my yard. The touch screen also makes things easier.

Questions & Answers
Question : Is it possible to watch videos on my Sony digital camera?
I want to watch videos on my digital camera that I save onto it from my computer. I tried copying a .mpg video to the camera but when I browse through the files on the camera I can't find it. My camera can capture and play videos. I have a Sony DSCW30 camera with a 1GB PRO Stick Duo.
Answer:
Digital cameras can only display videos that were originally taken by the same digital camera.

Question : Looking for a good sony digital camera?
I'm wanting a good digital camera, but not something that would cost a million dollars. It can be other brands but I would prefer sony... So I'm looking for a camera that isn't bulky... but I guess most digital camera's aren't. I'd like a good picture quality as in... no random white dots if the lighting source isn't good, or anything like that. Fairly quick picture taking would be lovely... and if the camera's limit is only limited to the memory cards' limit. Also being able to record clips... if there could be some sound. I was looking at some of the lower grades of sony camera and I noticed recording doesn't have sound.
And again, I'd prefer sony, but I guess it doesn't really matter.
Answer:
Since you prefer Sony, here are two pretty well reviewed models of Sony that meet up to your requirements. Both have fast response times and they both take video with audio.
One is the Sony N2
Here is a link with info and review :
http://www.steves-digicams.com/2007_reviews/n2.html
Second is the Sony T100
Here is a link with info and review :
http://www.steves-digicams.com/2007_reviews/sony_t100.html
Personally I would go for the N2 because of its larger sensor but then thats a personal preference because on the other hand, the T100 is VERY compact.
Here is a link to a site where you can compare image and video quality :

Question : format error on sony digital camera how do i fix it? is there a disc to reset harddrive?
i have a sony mavica model mvc-fd85 digital camera ,when a disc is inserted it says format erroe 13-1,when i try to format disc error message appears ,i believe hard drive is out of whacck.is there any way to reformat hard drive?
Answer:
This is one of the earliest Sony digital cameras that uses regular 3.5" floppy disks. Try formatting other disks in the camera - do you get the same error message? I also suggest formatting the disk with your computer to rule out the possibility that you have some bad disks.
If the problem is not with the disks, then the problem is most likely with the disk drive in the camera. You'll probably need to contact Sony for repairs....or it's time for a new camera.

Question : Will any Sony digital camera body work with the older Minolta Rokkor lenses?
I have many good Minolta Rokkor lenses I've used on several Minolta SRT camera bodies. I understand that Sony bought Minolta so will any of the Sony digital bodies fit the Rokkors (like the older Pentax lenses do with current Pentax digitals)?
Answer:
There is an adapter but its hard to find although a visit to the Sony web site might be helpful. Other than that just keep checking on eBay. Unfortunately, when Minolta introduced the Maxxum 7000 AF camera in 1985 they changed their lens mount. Sony now uses the A-mount so any Maxxum AF lens will work just fine on a Sony DSLR.

Question : i broke my sony camera, should i invest in a new sony digital camera or buy a canon?
i've heard canon brand is better than sony, but since i already have the battery, charger and memory card i was thinking about getting another sony..
so do i buy a Sony camera or go for a Canon?????
what's your advice?
Answer:
Tough choice, but think the Canon below would really be the best.
Just saw this camera at Best Buy and think it is a great camera and a best buy. It has an optical viewfinder and uses NiMH rechargeable batteries. Please read as much of the following as you can for other information and help with choosing a camera.
Canon A590IS $134.99 at Best Buy or $116.30 at Amazon.com

Camera reports batteries low, but is it low charge or bad electrical contacts? Overcharging can ruin good batteries! The secret to making digital cameras work better is having good electrical contacts between batteries and camera.
Digital cameras require lots of power. Bad electrical contacts can cause lots of problems so battery and camera contacts must be cleaned properly. Batteries may be fully charged, but will be viewed as low if contacts are not really good. The LCD screen is a low steady load, but when lens extension, optical zoom, focus, and flash charging are added in the capture mode; the load is very heavy. Bad contacts make cameras do strange things like making bad pictures or shutting off with the lens out.
CAUTION Do not overcharge! Batteries can be severely damaged. Use an automatic two or more hour Energizer Compact smart charger with safety timer, temperature monitor, and trickle charge technology ($9.76) at Walmart. For longer life, use Duracell 2000mAh batteries and a full cycle charge monthly. To preserve battery charge, use the view finder and not the LCD screen when possible.
There are so many cameras out there it is difficult to say which is best, but digital is definitely the way to go. The second source link will be very helpful as it list most of the cameras out there with prices.
What gives a camera its picture quality? The following information should help you know what to look for in a camera.
The short answer is that it is mostly the skill of the photographer that produces high quality pictures. The lens and camera are very important, but the ability to set the scene, adjust the cameras settings, and hold the camera very still or use a tripod with auto or remote shutter actuation when required is what gets the great pictures.
Many of the new cameras come with only an LCD screen. Would suggest that you find one that also has an optical view finder because the LCD screen is almost impossible to see in bright sun.
Higher mega pixels may not really be the best thing to look for. It is more expensive, takes longer to process, and may not be needed unless you are making a really large picture or blowing up a small part of a picture. Maximum print size for a 3 mega pixel setting is 8 x 10 inches.

The information about my camera is just to show that you don't need the biggest and best. Just know how to use the one you have.
My camera has 5.2 mega pixel, but I use 3 most of the time because it gives great results, is faster, and takes less memory. Also, it only has a 3 x optical zoom and 7x digital zoom. I never use the digital zoom because making pictures larger works better on the computer. This is an old camera, but everyone is impressed with the quality pictures it takes ... like magic.
Check with the Geeks in several stores and compare prices. Ask what cameras they own, but don't believe everything you hear. Once you select a camera read all about it in the owner's manual. Just learned that my camera has red-eye prevention and correction. It also has adaptive lighting. You may be able to view the owners manual at this link, but will need to Login. http://www.retrevo.com/s/di

Question : Driver for connecting Sony Digital Camera to Windows Vista OS?
Hi,
I have a Toshiba laptop (A205) with OS Windows Vista. I am unable to connect my Sony Digital Camera to my laptop through the USB because it does not recognize it. Can anyone recommend any site where I may download a driver so that I can connect my Sony camera to my Windows Vista running laptop? Thanks in advance.

Question : Which is better a Sony or a Canon digital camera ?
I'm panning to buy a good digital camera and i'm wondering which is better a sony digital camera or a canon. Do you know any good model to suggest ?
Answer:
Sony tends to be lower end. They're limited on lenses and feel cheap. Sony has been making SLRs since 2006 and Canon since the early 1900s. Who do you think would be better?

Question : How do you go to the trash bin in a Sony digital camera?
It's a sony Cyber-shot DSC-W120 digital camera. I Deleted the pictures by accident andI really want to get them back.
Thanks
Answer:
You are thinking that your camera works like your computer, sorry but it does not, once you have deleted them then under all normal circumstances you have lost them. If you have not taken other photographs since you deleted them so that they have not been overwritten you can contact a specialist company who deal in data recovery. There may be software you can purchase that will do the same job, how effective it is I have no idea. You will have to do a search of the internet to locate it. Whichever way it will probably cost you, so it depends how important these photos are.

Answer:
Most of the fake memory cards are being sold on the Internet via eBay ... eBay is doing its best to stop this, but fake cards are still being sold.

In the US, cards purchased in reputable electronics and camera stores are the real deal.
