With the Xacti S60 Series, beginners simply can do more than with other compact cameras. This can be attributed to features such as 6-megapixel technology, VGA video at 30 pictures per second and a touch sensor with the fastest shutter time of any compact camera currently available. All of these great features plus the unbeatable overall value of the Xacti S60 make this model perfect for novice users, who get great results thanks to the camera's easy operation!

DO NOT BUY THIS CAMERA!!!!
My twin daughters both bought one of these. Each failed in the same way before the warranty period was over. However, Sanyo makes it impossible to make a warranty claim. Do not buy this camera, or anything else from Sanyo, unless you like throwing money away.

Customer Review :
Great for pictures. not so much for video
The camera is a great bargain if you want an easy to use 5MP photo camera. However, as a video camera, it doesn't really work that well unless there is a lot of light.
Rating :
Light? What light?
This camera doesn't understand what light is. No matter what setting I have it on, it is always dark. The videos come out so dark that I have to tilt my computer screen down to see it from an angle.
The pictures themselves are grainy and look sandy. I have tried every mode and size and they are still grainy. I had a 3MP camera that took less grainy pictures than this one!
The pictures are also very dark. If you are not practically in your subject's lap, then it will be grainy and dark. It seems pointless to have a camera that doesn't take pictures!
After having it about a year, it suddenly stopped working. It won't start, turn on, nothing. It is completely dead.
I am not sure if my issues with this camera are universal or if I have a lemon. Regardless, I am not going to purchase another camera from Sanyo and I am hesitant to purchase any electronics from them.

Question : Does anyone know if a Sanyo Digital camera is worth a crap???
I like this specific model of Sanyo b-cause it is small (like so I can carry it in my purse w/o alot of bulk/weight) and also it is reasonably priced at $149.00 for 7.0 MP

I wouldn't recommend Sanyo.
I'd rather get a Kodak, which are still small and cheap, and take wonderful pictures.

Question : I have a sanyo vpc-503 digital camera. What type of SD memory cards can i use?
I have seen type I and type II memory cards on sale. I have also seen all types of memory card sizes available. I am new to the digital camera universe and need help getting the correct memory card for my camera. Thank you.
Answer:
Sanyo shows that their cameras (I could not find a reverence to your VPC-503) use SD/MMC cards. Just take your camera into an electronics store and have them take a look at the card that is in your camera. They will be able to show you some cards that are compatible with your camera.
