Great so far!
Got this online 2 weeks ago. very cool looking camera, with great features, face detection and image stabilization, many scene modes, easy to set up, display is excellent in all kinds of light. Software is very capable and has special features. Walmart had for 98 $ and extended 1 year warranty (from 90 days that camera has) for $5.99. I love it so far!!!! Takes great photo's. The only thing that i'd wish is that the battery meter would be displayed on main screen but i've taken over 180 pratice pictures and still has charge and low meter doesn't come up. That's ok for me. I'm letting it run down to see how long it lasts.

Outstanding camera for the price
This product is an outstanding camera for the price. Fast shutter speed, 7 Mega pixels HUGE LCD display, simple controls (yet a lengthy list of features) 3x optical zoom and 5x digital zoom and even image stabilization and face detection . Shoots stills and videos too. The only drawback I find is that it uses non standard batteries (a flat lithium ion battery similar to a cell phone, but I found them inexpensively on eBay.)
I also liked the all metal hefty construction on this slim beauty and the all in one USB/ RCA plug cable for connection to your computer or TV set. Make sure you get a SD or MMC card card, because the internal memory is only 32MB.
You can pay more for a digital camera, but for beginners or as a second camera this one does the job superbly.

I love it but...
This is the vest digital camera I've ever had in terms of quality, features, etc. Great battery life. I've had it two weeks and yesterday the LCD display crapped out on me. I'm going to return it for the exact same camera, this time with a product warranty, and hope it's just one lemon in a really great product line because I love this camera.

crappy camera
This is the worst camera I have ever owned. I would rather use a disposible camera. I've been a professional photographer for over 10 years and was looking for a cheap pocket camera for my young daughter. She picked this out because of the color and that's really the only thing going for it. I could not believe the horrible quality of pictures. My camera phone takes better pictures than this piece of junk. Do not waste your money!!!!!

Great Pictures
This sanyo camera i got for my daughter is great. It's very user friendly. It takes better pictures than my casio. We went to the zoo in ft. worth and she took so many pics (over 300). She is the camera queen now!! The pics came out really clear and colorful. Even the pics she took of the reptiles behind the glass turned out great. I would recommend this camera to anyone.

SANYO VPC-S650 DIGITAL CAMERA (BLACK)
Customer Review :
Great - Except
Great quality photos. My third digital camera and definitely the best photos. No way to plug into A/C to take photos at home. I burn through a pair of batteries at about 70 shots. Had to buy rechargable batteries and a quick charger with auto adapter. Overall, value for the money.

I love mine!
I purchased this in a store in November, as recommended by "Consumer Reports". It was on sale for 89.00 and that is because the new models are in for Christmas! Anyway, I really like this camera. It is easy to use and takes decent night portraits- that's low lighting in the livingroom around the tree- in my book. I purchased a 8MP Polaroid for my sister which is going back as the "tree" pictures she took were yellow, fuzzy and streaky. Everyone in the fam messed with hers, trying to get it to work with no luck. My Sanyo made up for it!
It is now being tested on a ski trip out west. I will let you all know how it does against the cold. I wish there was more feedback on this brand as I am definately a novice. Up until a month ago, I was still buying the cardboard disposables! I am shopping for a replacement for my sister's Polaroid and am considering this, even though it's 'only' 6MP's. It is hard to find reviews on the sanyo cams- and it's not really included in the Consumer Reports guide.
I do like it though as it is pretty simple and takes good pictures! Being new to the world of digital cameras, this won me over. If you want to experiment and not spend a lot of money, get it. I have read the 6MP's and 3x optical zoom is fine for general, family pictures. It even did a fine job at my kid's Christmas play ( I was in front row though). Hope this helps.

Great Buy
I bought this camera because it was the cheapest one I could find, and it had some decent reviews. I wasn't looking for anything more then to take pictures of friends and family - and other random everyday pictures. I ordered this on a saturday night and I got it this morning. I haven't used it a whole lot but the pictures I've taken so far have come out really nice, especially for being the cheapest one i found online! I'm glad I bought this instead of spending more for other cameras that will do the same thing. It's also pretty simple to use, I didn't even read the manual and was able to figure out how to use everything in about 45 seconds!

gift giver
I gave this camera to my daughter and she carries it everywhere she goes. She gives demontrations on how close she can get to an object and how clear the details are on the big screen. It is truly amazing. This camera is very hard to find because it sells out so quickly it is always on a waiting list. I was able to find one more for my other child and I want one for myself. If you see it buy it don't wait.

Just about perfect
The Sanyo VPC-E6 is a small, well finished ultra compact 6 megapixel digital camera. With it's large 3" high resolution screen, excellent video recording capability and very sharp photography mode this may be the sleeper of the year. Yes, you can use the optical zoom while recording excellent high resolution (640x480 @30 fps) videos in QuickTime format. The light sound of the zoom motor if used does transfer to the recording though. This is a speedy little camera. Startup is nearly instantaneous and reviewing the photos or scrolling through the well designed menu is very fast as well. The speed compares well with Canon SD series cameras. Another nice feature is that teh camera may be used as a webcam and SD card reader as well. Upon plugging in teh USB cable the user is asked for the feature to activate. Using it asa webcam requires a small tripod because the usb plug is on the bottom of the camera hence making positioning very difficult when plugged in. The card reader function is well done, one can transfer files to the SD card in the camera not just from the camera to the PC. The photos turn out real sharp results though tend to underexpose darker shots. Luckily, the exposure can be set by toggling hte multi-way controller. Very simple and fast adjustments are always at hand. The flash is adequate for fill lighting or indoor photography of a group of people. Red eye is more common than on my Canon but simply toggling the flash to red-eye mode alleviates that issue. Macro photography is perhaps the best I have seen. I was routinely able to capture well focused close-ups just inches away from the lens. The flash cuts back on it's output to avoid over lighting the subject. One issue I have had is the screen resolution when using it in dimly lit environments. It tends to be grainy and lacking in detail but as soon as the subject is focused the display is clear as day. Working with it outside in the sun is where it looks it's best. Overall I rate this camera right up there with the big boys from Canon, Casio or Sony. If you are looking for stylish camera that has a 3" screen, take a look at the Sanyo E6.

Questions & Answers
Question : I have a sanyo vpc-503 digital camera. What type of SD memory cards can i use?
I have seen type I and type II memory cards on sale. I have also seen all types of memory card sizes available. I am new to the digital camera universe and need help getting the correct memory card for my camera. Thank you.
Answer:
Sanyo shows that their cameras (I could not find a reverence to your VPC-503) use SD/MMC cards. Just take your camera into an electronics store and have them take a look at the card that is in your camera. They will be able to show you some cards that are compatible with your camera.

I like this specific model of Sanyo b-cause it is small (like so I can carry it in my purse w/o alot of bulk/weight) and also it is reasonably priced at $149.00 for 7.0 MP

Question : I have a sanyo digital camera model vcp 503 and i am having trouble, help please!!!!!?
the lense of the camera closes when i turn it on and opens when i shut it off, so therefore i cannot take pictures, please help me if you have any answers!!! it has 3x superzoom, if that helps any??
Answer:
Have you dropped it? It sounds as though it has some internal problem. Have you tried replacing the battery?
Since repairs will cost more than a new camera, use the Sanyo as a paperweight and buy a Canon or Nikon or Olympus or Sony or Kodak or Pentax to replace it.

Question : My Sanyo digital camera erased all of my pics! Can I get them back??
Is there any possible way to retrieve my pictures? I never approved my camera to erase pictures and I'm the only that had control of it. Is there any possibility? Whenever I try to see if they are there, my camera just says "no image". Help if you can.
Answer:
if your camera stores pictures on flash memory such as a memory stick or some other type of memory you may have a slight chance of recovery. If you are saving your pictures internally, you probably have no recourse. If however you are saving your pictures to a memory media card, then you may be able to find a card reader and plug it into your computer. Once you've done that then you must run a recovery program on the memory card itself!!!
