10MP Value
Not the best, not the worst, but for the money---one of the best values in a point and shoot with pretty decent capabilities. If you are a PRO, you're not looking at this. If you only want a take along, you could do better with a smaller, smoother bodied camera that is easier to get out and get the shot with no thought. However, if you are like me, someone that will occasionally want to do something interesting with what I learned in my college photography class, this camera is ideal. Very good quality -- both pictures and the camera build. Like anything worthwhile, take the time to get to know it. It will serve you well. I still miss my Seiko (Epson L-500V), but this one's working out just fine.

Great camera, an abundant amount of features.
A 10mp, 5x zoom, 3inch lcd display, super macro mode, program mode, aperture priority, shutter priority, and full manual modes for more creative and advanced shots, all for under $200! This camera is loaded with fun features as well, such as stickers, frames, and different color modes. It takes amazing pictures, especially when using the diffent manual modes. For the price this camera is hard to beat. Reason i did not give it a 5, is due to batteries do not last as long even with rechargables. One more thing for continuous shots is pretty slow.

Disappointed
My very first digital camera was a Samsung 7.0mp point-and-shoot. I was very impressed with the crisp and clear pictures that it produced and after it was stolen, I was such a fan of samsung that I had decided to stick with them and buy this camera. I had thought that this would be a better version of my previous camera. Unfortunately, it turns out that this was not the case. And in fact, the picture quality from my older model far exceeds this one.
I would say that this camera is just "okay". I don't have anything horrible to say about it, but nothing great either.
I will add a few points to consider though. Yes, it is true that this camera consumes batteries alkaline batteries very fast. However, I purposely buy point-and-shoot cameras that take AA batteries simply because if you are in a pinch, they are readily available and relatively inexpensive. If you buy any camera that works on AAs it will devour the batteries. With this in mind, all you have to do is buy high powered rechargeable NiMH batteries. These batteries last plenty long enough.

reasonable
Samsung S1050 is very affordable yet it's very functional. it has a better picture and video quality as well. i would definitely recommend this product to anyone who doesn't desire high end cameras. I would recommend to use 2500Mah-Ni batteries or higher for longer video recording and picture taking. This digital camera is great and you can take it anywhere in your pocket for any purposes. I have this for a month now and yet I take it to anywhere I go. I can't complain for the quality and price of this product because it's very reasonable and affordable! I love it! sabay ganon eh! hehe..

Very Good, Many Features
If your worried about it being durable, don't be. I work as an engineer at a steel mill and I use it to document projects. I've dropped it a couple times from waist height, covered it in metal dust, and overall have generally used it in hot, sweaty, and dirty conditions. I've even had some water splashed on it. Sure it may have a couple small scratches on the frame, but that's to be expected. The display on the back is even fine. The only issues I have had is that the lens guard wouldn't open all the way once after I dropped with the lens was extended. However, it only took a few "on-off" cycles and then it opened perfectly fine. Also, the flip up flash seems a little flimsy for my liking, but I haven't really had a problem with it.
I would have so say the best feature is that it is rechargeable just like an iPod. You can plug it into the computer to charge it, or plug the same cord into the USB-to-AC Power adapter that it comes with. It's worth buying just so you don't have to buy batteries every other time you use it. I've even used it in a pinch as a portable hard drive to transport files since it appears as one on your computer when not using the provided software.
I was initially looking for a camera with a 10x zoom, but the 10.1 megapixels make up for what the 3x zoom lacks (you really don't need more than 7 MP otherwise). As for the shake reduction, I've taken it on a very fast roller coaster, although I'd advise not to, and ended up with some surprisingly clear pictures.
The psudo-touch screen buttons along the sides of the display is a pretty sexy feature. I'll admit though, even for a engineer, it took me a while of tinkering before I got the hang of navigating the controls. On the upside, they allow for a larger screen on a smaller camera.
All in all, it's a really great camera for the price. I've used it in many different environments for many different types of pictures, and I haven't even used half of the features that it provides. I bought the NV15 on Amazon over the summer for around $150. For that price, or anything under $200, you definitely can't pass it up.

Great camera, great price, great service
Everything I expected and more. This camera is sexy. Easy to use, fast from power to click, long battery life.

Great Camera
I have enjoyed using this camera, the interface with the multiple buttons around the screen makes changing the settings a breeze. It does a pretty good job cleaning up the picture when you use the doubler as well and I think it looks pretty cool.
Rating :
Generally happy, but with some concern.
Picture quality is very good, but not excellent. I don't like the pop-up flash. When someone else uses the camera, they tend to think it can be opened manually -- a logical conclusion. Fortunately, I've been able to give them advanced warning. If that isn't possible in the future, someone may innocently break the camera by opening the flash. Also, dust seems to be collecting under the LCD cover. That would be OK, if there were a way the user could clean it out.

Disappointed
First, I'll say that there are some things I really liked about this camera after using it for the past six months. The retro design makes it unique among digital cameras, and is very attractive if that's your style. The low price for a 10 megapixel camera is unrivaled as well, and was one of the main draws for me for this camera. It holds battery well, so I didn't have to recharge as often as some other cameras I've had. (It has an internal battery, so requires computer connection and cable to charge.)
Now, the downsides. It is very, very slow to take and process pictures: Expect to wait several seconds after snapping a shot before you're able to preview the picture. That doesn't sound like a lot, but for a camera that has problematic settings and needs more attention than the average point-and-shoot (see below), I found I was missing shots that even a disposable film camera could have snapped more easily and quickly.
In automatic mode, I rarely came out with focused pictures; it usually required playing around with various scenes and settings, even in full daylight. The on-screen functions are confusing, which may reflect my own personal preference, but I never really got used to them. I don't consider this camera a simple point-and-shoot, so because it requires heavy adjustments on the settings, I would have hoped them to be a little more user friendly. There are a series of buttons along the bottom and right side of the screen to scroll through the functions, which I found complicated to navigate -- I was always clicking the wrong functions because it was not clear which button matched up to what.
One of my major complaints is that the structure of the camera itself was, in my opinion, shoddy. I took very good care of the camera, always stored it in a case and never abused it. However, after less than two months of use, the pop-up flash started acting up. The flash would go off but not pop up sometimes, causing ruined, black pictures when flash was necessary. Not much later it broke completely -- the flash device is up 100% of the time and won't go down unless held there, so while I don't have dark pictures anymore, the flash risks snapping off.
In the end, I gave the camera away and just bought a Nikon S210 to replace it. The price on the new camera is about the same, and although the Nikon is 8 megapixels, it has consistently taken better pictures faster than the Samsung, and thrives in automatic mode.
For a nice looking, attractive camera, go for the Samsung NV15. For quality pictures, steer clear.

Be careful with this!
I very lightly dropped this camera on the carpet from about 6 inches away, jammed the zoom and the whole camera never went on again. Also, there is a significant amount of time between pictures, and the screen goes black, which makes it difficult to shoot kids, pets or anyone who can't sit still for a few mintutes.

horrible camera
I got this before Christmas last year. It has gone thru a ton of batteries...the good quality digital ones. After using it a few times it started to have a bright white screen when I would turn it on. Nothing like grabbing your camera to take a candid shot and not being able to. At first tapping it on something worked, now it just stays white, when it will even turn on. It is a horrible camera and I would not suggest anyone purchase it.

Zoom Problem
Be leary!!! Although it takes wonderful pictures, this can't be denied.. it has a problem w/the zoom lense. I protected this camera at all cost, never dropped it, kept in case. One day I try to take a picture, the zoom lense freeze!!! Have to constantly pull out before taking a picture. Warrenty was gone and it cost $100 to fix it. Best thing to do is replace, I won't be investing in a Samsung Camera again

Batteries are the key!
I bought this camera for my girlfriend over a year ago. We used standard alkaline batteries, and literally after three to five flash pictures, the batteries were toasted. We assumed that we just got a dud camera, and it has sat unused for a year. I'm surprised we hadn't thrown it away. Then, after reading other reviews on this site, we got some Kodak 2500mAH rechargeable camera batteries and put them in this camera. IT'S WORKING GREAT NOW! Great pictures, and the camera is working with a battery life that you would expect. This is a great little camera, but you MUST use rechargeable batteries with a high capacity!

don't buy this camera!
I bought this camera and after about a week it just started to fall apart. First, it would eat up batteries like crazy. I realize that digital cameras do this, but it would drain the batteries after about 5 minutes. These were brand new batteries! Then, the lens broke and the entire camera stopped working. I took it back and they gave me a new one. After about two weeks it did the exact same thing. I took it back again and they said they could not refund it because it had been over 14 days. I just gave up and bought a different camera. This was a terrible camera and a huge waste of my money.

Questions & Answers
Question : how long do samsung digital camera batteries last?
i just bought a samsung digital camera today at circuit city, and just after a while its battery power became very low. i tried to change batteries, but the other ones don't work. i keep trying to figure out how the battery became so low when i just bought it today! and sometimes when i was taking pictures to test it out, it would just shut off or turn on itself. does anyone know why?
Answer:
When you buy a new camera, mobile phone or something like that, you have to charge it for 4-5 hours. Then you must use it.
There are different batteries. "AAA" or "AA" and so on. The little one is "AAA". pay attention to it.
And try to use rechargebale batteries. Yeah, they are more expensive than others, but it will last nearly 2-3 year. (you have to give it energy day-by-day)
And dont forget, if there appears any problem, You may contact to "shop sale or technic manager".

Question : How do I fix my samsung digital camera?
The camera is a type where the lens come up when you turn it on. The lens came out but the battery died and the lens stayed put. Sometime later I put new batteries in to close the lens but the lens wouldn't come back in. I looked and found out the outer tube is sorta crooked. Is there anything i can do to fix it without bringing it to a samsung center?
Answer:
have it repaired

Question : Can I use any type of memory card for a Samsung digital camera?
I want to get the pink samsung model 860 for $99.99
Can I use the SanDisk 2 GB memory card?
Answer:
Read the manual. Go online to the Samsung website and read the specifications.
For starters you need to know exactly which type of memory card you need, and even if you have the right type, some of the cheap cameras can only handle smaller cards.

Question : How do you capture color light with a Samsung S730 digital camera?
I have a samsung s730 7.2 digital camera and I was wondering how to capture a great light scene at night? I know how to use the different modes for different scenes but at night even with right mode the picture comes out blury or too bright with the flash. If i am taking pictures of different color lights such as a blue lighting or red or something how do I capture the color in the picture without it coming out too blury?
Answer:
u need a long exposure, and because of long exposure time you may not move the camera, and do not use flash. You will then get the light from the streets lights or whatever else is around... expect to get diff colors, reds and oranges .... get a tripod, will not be able to hand hold at such long exposure settings

Question : Wth is the macro function on the s760 samsung digital camera?
I know what it does but it doesn't seem to do anything here, am I missing something or is that just a scam function?
Answer:
It is supposed to allow the camera to focus at closer distances. Focus as close as you can then switch to macro mode and try to focus closer. If you succeed then it is working fine.

Question : how to take picture of a moon whith my samsung digital camera?
someone help me??? i want to take picture of a moon
camera i have :
samsung S750
zoom-5.8-17.4mm 3X optical zoom
have ASR (advance shake reduction)
7.2 megapixel
i have paint shop pro X2
picasa
tripod
Answer:
The moon will be quite small with your lenses focal length which is not much longer that a medium telephoto used to take portraits.
Even using my 500 mm on my D300, the moon only fills about 1/5th of the frame.
I don't know how you plan on setting the camera to the sunny 16 rule setting for exposing the moon properly. At ISO 100, you could hand hold the camera at 1/400th second @ f/8 with the camera set at infinity and get nearly perfect exposures.
If you attempt to use the auto-exposure, auto-focus features of your camera, you are likely only to get a white hole in the sky and a lot of camera movement, because the auto-exposure will be trying to expose for the night sky, not the moon

Question : Change image size on samsung bl103 digital camera?
I just got a samsung camera and when taking pictures they come out HUGE...How do I change the setting so the pictures take a little smaller?
Answer:
NO, no, no, no, no - don't EVER do that!!!
You should never EVER set your camera to anything less than best quality (i.e. lowest compression rate) and biggest size (highest resolution).
The reasons for that include:
1) If you have a good, large photo, you can crop it more later on without losing too much detail if you really have to.
2) If you happen to take the best photo you ever took, you'll be able to print it at a large size. If you lowered size and quality, you'd be kicking yourself.
3) If you decide later you really don't want to keep a big file, it is very easy to down-size it in post processing - but you can't go the other way, you can't invent pixels that weren't there in the first place.
4) Memory cards are cheap, so are bigger hard drives. There is NO reason to do anything less than the best.

Question : How do you set the timer on a Samsung D75 digital camera?!?
Hi! I have a samsung D75 digital camera and I always need to use the timer option, but I dont know how to set it up so it works! Please, if you know, tell me how because its driving me mad! Thank you! Have a good day.
Answer:
The round dial on the back of your camera has the self-timer function. It's the icon that looks like a circle or clock. It has a line through it (or the second hand in a clock). While in recording/shooting mode you should be able to press it and it will give you a 2 sec. or 10 sec. timer option. Then just press the shutter button to get the timer started.
Alternatively, have a look in pages 8 and, in particular, page 27 of your user manual for help in using the self timer.
If you don't have the user manual, you can download it in the link below...
