The Pro815 is equipped with a 15X optical zoom with a focal length of 28- 420mm, equal to a 35mm equivalent which means you can shoot from wide angle to telephoto with one lens. The Pro815 has four low-dispersion glass lenses specially manufactured to minimize chromatic aberration that can occur when wide-angle and ultra high zoom are supported at the same time. In addition, it employs 2 aspherical lenses for the correction of spherical aberration and lateral colors for the entire zoom range from wide to tele. This lens combined with the high-sensitivity CCD means the Pro815 provides the best image quality. Highly superior Schneider-Kreuznach lens produces crystal clear images by using a highly refractive lens, chromatics and distortion are eliminated for more natural-looking pictures. The 3.5 inch TFT LCD screen coupled with 16.7 million true color support means you can share your images with other people because the viewing angle is wide and the colours are well reproduced. The Pro815 comes a large-capacity 7.4V, 1900mAh lithium-ion battery for up to 450 shots before further charging is required. The Pro 815 achieves very fast response time performing a 1.0 second startup and 1.3 second shot-to-shot speed. Absolutely LOVE this Camera

I have had this camera for almost 2 years and I have to say that I absolutely love it! You do not have to be a professional or even advanced to use this camera. Although, it does have lots of options, you can still put it on "Auto" and just point and shoot. This camera is still going to give you great pictures with vivid color. You can learn the more advanced options as you get use to the camera. I would highly highly recommend this camera to anyone who asked me about it. I wouldn't trade mine for anything!

Great digital camera

I'll start saying that I'm not a pro photographer, but this digital camera has some features that really impress me, starting by the big LCD screen, the 15 x zoom, fast response and multiple options to configure and adjust. Also it's a great price if you compare with others with similar features.

De only draw back that I'm aware so far is that the size doesn't fit in any third party case, I bought a low alpine and it fit uncomfortable, probably best choice is to buy the original samsung case.

Definitially does it's job!

I am a licensed child photographer, so I knew exactly what I was looking for when I bought this camera. This camera is now my favorite to use. I like that I dont have to change lenses, which lets me focus on only one thing - the children. I do have to use a tripod if I dont use the flash, but I expected that. The battery always outlasts my 2.0gb memory card, so I don't have to change the battery mid-photoshoot. One thing to know though - if the battery IS low, the shutter speed is very slow. So keep it charged. I recommend this camera to my friends, my photo specialists, and well, to everybody!

Great Camera

I am not a techie, but I got the Samsung as a step up from a regular Kodak digital. Please forgive my lack of "technical" discussion.

I find it an "adventure": I'm learning it as I go along and very day is a new suprise. Fairly easy to use and packed with features. Love the long zoom, love the huge LCD and all the other goodies. Pix are sharp and clear. I haven't seen any other high end digital that is comparable. Only complaint is shutter lag time.

I got it as "refurbished" here and saved a bundle. Seems new to me.

GREAT BUY

I'm no professional camera user myself, but this camera has such a crisp quality of taking picture, and it really teaches you how to focus and time your shots when using the manual zoom. It takes brilliant pictures, has great camera life, and I always have room on the memory card it came with for more picture.

The only thing that's a little bit of a nitch is that the top screen is hard to use when your doing manual focus becuase its soo small, and that the eye finder is digital so its not like an SLR but other than that it absolutely rocks and is a GREAT buy!

Good pictures and thin size

I bought this for my son for Christmas. He uses it a lot, because it is easy to use and not too bulky. Good pictures, though a little trouble with the balance on flash pictures.

Rating :

Low price, low speed

I bought this as a second camera so I could take it everywhere I go. Given its size, it has worked well and I'm happy so far. The image quality is decent in normal shooting conditions. The worst part is the waiting time between shoots when using flash. It takes around 4-6 seconds to take another shoot and the red eye mode takes even more.

Nice for the ladys

This is a good camera especially for the price. Image quality does suffer a bit from the price and I don't like the proprietary cord connections. The charger is proprietary and the data cable to download the pictures is. In this day and age, I think most if not all digital cameras should use standard mini USB cables. Nevertheless, I give it a 4 out of 5.

Editorial Review :

The L73 allows the use of the optical 3x zoom to get closer to the subject while still recording. This offers a camcorder-like recording experience. The L73 supports 800x592 SVGA quality a 20fps for an enhanced video shooting experience. You can even edit your movies on the camera itself, making it brilliantly portable. This mode is used to select and cut desired scenes from a recorded movie, and save the scenes. The mode is very convenient because editing a movie can occur within the camera itself, immediately after recording the movie. A special Red-eye Fix algorithm on the camera automatically eliminates red-eye from your pictures. When viewing the images on the LCD, it is possible to listen to music provided by the camera or add special effects to the images to be displayed on the LCD. Not really what it says it is

I've used this camera for over a year and taken maybe a thousand photos with it (I use it primarily for work.) It's an okay camera, but it does not do everything it claims to do -- see below.
Pros: Form factor -- camera is small but still easy to handle, and it looks sleek and professional. It is very lightweight.

Start Up -- it starts up quickly so you don't miss shots waiting for it to start up.

Image Quality -- excellent. Very sharp pictures with good color capture. Nothing wrong with the image quality.

All-in-one USB Cable -- you can charge the camera using the USB cable, which means fewer cables to haul around. That's nice for those of us who travel a lot.

Cons: AutoFocus is S-L-O-W -- Take a long time to lock-on. How long? Long enough to miss a toddler's smile. Slow enough that you have to say "Wait a second" and make your subject freeze while the camera locks on. It's slower at lower ISO settings and in dimmer conditions. Very slow when using the flash -- I have to basically focus twice -- the first is a failed attempt, the second nails it. This is really pitiful performance.

Anti-shake: This is NOT an anti-shake camera, despite the description. All it does is automatically shoot at a higher ISO to get a faster shutter speed, IF the anti-shake is on and IF you have the right light, which according to the manual is lighting no brighter and no dimmer than a flourescent light fixture. So... the hyped Anti-Shake is simply setting a higher shutter speed, and it only does it if you have that particular setting dialed in and only under very specific lighting situation. Useless.

Scene Features: The portrait feature seems to be okay, but the "child" feature is useless. Even it bright daylight, I have not been able to use this feature usefully. I get blurry pictures. I just don't use it and use the Program setting for everything. The "face-finding" feature also does not work any better than the regular autofocus (which is pretty poor.)

Other useless features: Give how weak the autofocus and scene features are, it's kind of funny that the camera has these built in slide-show features and arcane in-camera video-editing features. These are so limited and hard to use they are basically useless. I'd much rather have not had them at all, and just had better autofocus performance.

Memory Card: Not all memory card readers will read SD chips formatted by this camera. Samsung admitted this when I called them, and they recommend using the USB cable for photo transfer. This is lame. Fact is, I've not had ANY computer that could reliably read chips from this camera (and I've checked on a half-dozen or so different machines.) This is unacceptable -- the point of the SD card is that you can easily transfer the pictures to a computer. I don't always have the USB cable with me, even if I have the camera with me.

I should probably rate this camera even lower, because it claims to be so much better, but at its core it does take good photos, and if you don't need very fast autofocus and can tolerate a noticeable shutter lag, it's not a bad camera. 90% of my photos are of things where these problems don't matter, and the lightness of the camera outweighs the drawbacks. I'd use the camera more for personal photos, though, if it had better autofocus, if the anti-shake really worked, and if the Scene features actually did everything.

Truth is, I would not have purchased this camera had I known about these problems. If the Anti-shake, in particular, is important to you, keep looking for another camera that really has it. This one does not. I'd already had the camera for longer than the return period before I found out about these problems, or I'd have returned it. Now I'm stuck with it. Caveat emptor!

SAVE YOUR MONEY

We purchased this during the Christmas sales from Tigerdirect. I used it for about 2 months without any problem. Then one day the lens stuck open and the screen went black. Power turned off. Tried removing the battery and replacing. Battery was charged up to full and still would not work. Zip, Zero response. About a week later I picked it up because I noticed the lens had retracted. Camera was not on. I turned it on and it worked fine. Then about 3 weeks later I used it again and was playing back the pictures on the screen when it did the same thing again. I recharged the battery to full and while hooked up to the computer I was able to turn it on and the lens retracted. But after a full charge it still will not turn on. Even connected to the computer it will not turn on. I have researched the Samsung site but nothing is mentioned about this problem. I did find the E18 error code that is associated to Canon cameras and the symptoms are the same except for the lack of the E18 code on the screen. In hindsight I wish I had purchased one a little more expensive that did not have this problem. I am in the process of trying to get a RMA for warranty repair. But if they are like Canon it will be a user error or misuse even though the camera is kept in a camera case and has not been abused at all. Wish we had spent another $50 and got a Sony.

A great camera - tremendous for the price

I think this camera is awesome for the price. I have tested or owned a bunch of point-and-shoot digital cameras, including a really nice Canon, Panosonic, Nikon, Sony, Casio, Kodak, HP, GE, and several Samsungs. For the money, this is the best of all of them - as I said, weighing price against quality. For some reason, this very well-made and solid camera, in my opinion, has gotten a mixed review - maybe it has too many cool things that it does - I don't know. But it takes great pictures. I think it might be a bit inimidating for the point-and-shoot crowd, because it has all these programmable functions - but that's all I can think of. I give this camera 5 stars all the way.

Question : how to take picture of a moon whith my samsung digital camera?
someone help me??? i want to take picture of a moon camera i have : samsung S750 zoom-5.8-17.4mm 3X optical zoom have ASR (advance shake reduction) 7.2 megapixel i have paint shop pro X2 picasa tripod

Answer:
The moon will be quite small with your lenses focal length which is not much longer that a medium telephoto used to take portraits. Even using my 500 mm on my D300, the moon only fills about 1/5th of the frame. I don't know how you plan on setting the camera to the sunny 16 rule setting for exposing the moon properly. At ISO 100, you could hand hold the camera at 1/400th second @ f/8 with the camera set at infinity and get nearly perfect exposures. If you attempt to use the auto-exposure, auto-focus features of your camera, you are likely only to get a white hole in the sky and a lot of camera movement, because the auto-exposure will be trying to expose for the night sky, not the moon

Question : how long do samsung digital camera batteries last?
i just bought a samsung digital camera today at circuit city, and just after a while its battery power became very low. i tried to change batteries, but the other ones don't work. i keep trying to figure out how the battery became so low when i just bought it today! and sometimes when i was taking pictures to test it out, it would just shut off or turn on itself. does anyone know why?

Answer:
When you buy a new camera, mobile phone or something like that, you have to charge it for 4-5 hours. Then you must use it. There are different batteries. "AAA" or "AA" and so on. The little one is "AAA". pay attention to it. And try to use rechargebale batteries. Yeah, they are more expensive than others, but it will last nearly 2-3 year. (you have to give it energy day-by-day) And dont forget, if there appears any problem, You may contact to "shop sale or technic manager".

Question : Where can I find a good repair shop for my new Samsung digital camera in Morocco?
On extended vacation in Casablanca, Morocco. My new Samsung digitial camera I bought in the States has quite working and keeps saying low battery even when new batteries are put in. Also the focus has turned blurry. Cant seem to find anyone to repair or even understand the problem. It cost §80 new US cash to buy a new one here would be close to §200 for the same model, not an option. Any help would be greatly appreciated, a trip with no pictures would be really sad!

Answer:
Forget it, just buy a new camera! That is what being a good little consumer is all about! Buy a$200 camera, In your case get it for $80 in another country and when it breaks its cost $200 to send it to be fixed (not to mention the BS and run around). You see finding a shop that fixes small electronics is impossible, there just is not enough pay on the investment for people to that anymore, you will just have to send it in and deal the inconvenience! Or Buy a new Camera! Things today are designed not to last and be very expensive, sorry!

Question : Can anyone tell me about the Samsung L200 digital camera?
It looks like a great camera for the price ($150). 10.2 MP, 2.5 inch LCD, but only 3x optical zoom. Anyone have one? Are you happy with it? And what is the reputation of Samsung cameras in general? Thanks.

Answer:
It uses a lithium ion battery, which is good. It's got optical image stabilization, which is good. It looks good for the price.

Question : What memory card is needed for a Samsung L200 digital camera?
I have a san disk 256 mg, would that work with a samsung camera?

Answer:
This camera uses an SD memory card, you don't say what type of memory card your San Disk card is so I can't tell you if it will work or not. If it's a small, thin rectangle and says 'SD' on the bottom left then it will work with your camera. If its a square and says 'CF' then it will not work. Hope this helps. Thomas

Question : Did anyone else buy the Samsung D53 digital camera at Walmart? How does Samsung compare with Polaroid?
This must have been a Walmart exclusive because it's not listed on the Samsung web site as a model. Does anyone know how this camera would compare with the Polaroid A700 which was on sale at Kmart? Any opinions on who might make the best inexpense digital camera--Samsung or Polaroid? I do know that the Samsung is very confusing to use out of the box. There are many features but a steep learning curve on figuring out how to use them.

Answer:
Neither. I don't know how much retailers are advertising these for, but if Canon, Olympus, Fuji or Kodak had one within $100, I would opt for one of those and consider it money well spent. I use a Samsung digicam at work for taking passport photos and it is completely unimpressive. Polaroid spent a lot of time in bankruptcy, and is behind on the digital curve. Good luck in finding the right camera. BTW, if you are switching from a film camera, ALL digicams have a steep learning curve!
