Worst purchase ever

We got this camera for a very low price, but never have I stayed so bitter about a purchase for so long. Photos without flash are invariably blurry, photos with flash or outdoors are ridiculously overexposed, and sometimes still blurry! Even the simplest photos in ideal conditions come out horribly. I have bought and used several different cheap/lower end digital cameras, but this is the most horrible product I have ever laid hands on. If anyone knows how to file an official complaint with Polaroid (that they'll pay attention to), let me know. I should never have opened that packaging.

Disappointing!!!

I recieved this camera for by last birthday and wished that I had returned it! First off, the camera came with absolutely NO instructions. I have some knowledge of cameras so I messed with all the functions but instructions would have been helpful! Secondly, to this date, I only have been able to have it take one decent picture--which I totally had to photoshop & turn into black & white. All my other pictures have turned out blurry or too dark. Thirdly, the LCD screen SUCKS! It is slow, grainy and totally blurry so it is hard to focus on whatever you are taking a picture of. For a long time I thought that it was just me having so many problems but after reading all the reviews, I am obviously not he only one! One thing that is positive is that the software is easy to use and the pictures upload quickly but what is the point if you can get a good picture!!! I got so fed up with this camera that I had to have my sister take pictures with her Sony digital camera for all of our family get togethers or use my video camera! I am getting a Kodak that is $200.00+ for my birthday this year and am hoping that it is a better experience! Anyway, my advice to anyone thinking about this camera--SKIP IT!

This camera is junk...

I bought this camera because it was cheaper and thought that a company such as Polaroid would put out a decent camera. Nope. As everyone has stated the picture quality is HORRIBLE. Unless you have the perfect light then don't bother taking the picture. The flash (like stated) washes out faces or it's dark. The time between flash and actual picture is crazy. I have bought brand new batteries only for it to shut off 30 seconds later. The settings reset with every picture. It's a horrible, horrible camera. I have lost many photos with this camera and would do better with a disposable. Do not waste your money.

Poor choice

I purchased this camera 'on sale' as I didn't have previous experience with a digital and didn't want to spend a lot of money. Wish I had spent the extra money as I will now be doing so anyway. The picture quality is not very good. Even using a flash indoors when the lighting is not 'perfect' the quality of the photos is bad. The best pictures you can take with this camera are outdoors in the daylight, and don't think of using at night -- even with the flash, pictures don't show. When using a flash indoors, don't get very close -- they come out way too bright; however, without you can't even see one's face! Just don't buy a Polaroid, look for another make.

Horibble Flash and VERY SLOW

This was my first digital camera -it was bought in kind of a hurry because I wanted to get one before I went on a trip. IT'S HORRIBLE! I guess it's sufficient if you really just want a camera, but besides that, it's just bad. The flash is the main problem. Without the flash you have to be in perfect light to get a decent picture (meaning in order to see anything) and with the flash you have to be at the perfect distance (in order to see any faces). Most of my pictures taken with this camera are either too dark to see anything or extremely bright so everyone/ everything is washed out. I went to a banquet at a hotel and out of about 20 pictures, maybe 5 look good -I finally just gave up: it was ruining the banquet for me because I was constantly fiddling with this, trying to get decent pictures. I took it to prom and even with the flash, all the pictures in the limo and inside the actual prom are pitch black. Also, at the after-prom event, where there was florescent lighting, the backgrounds are all dark and most faces are either washed out or really dark. I've tried everything -fiddling around with all the settings and different lightings -like I said, you pretty much have to be in perfect conditions.
The second main problem is that it takes FOREVER to take pictures. From the time you take the picture to the time it actually shows up on the screen and you can take another one is easily almost 10 seconds (at least more than 5 sec). Because I bought it from Target, opening the package rendered it unreturnable, plus it is better than no camera at all. My camera phone literally takes pictures as good if not better than this camera. What was good about this camera? It was cheap (even though its still not even worth what it costs) and it taught me, you truly get what you pay for. I'm finally getting a new camera -I decided to go ahead and shell out some cash this time -hopefully it will turn out better. So to sum it up:
1. Horrible flash -needs the perfect conditions to take decent pics
2. Takes forever to take pictures
3. You're better off with a camera phone
I really expected more from such a big, well-known company, despite the price. Hopefully you won't make the same mistake I did. Pretty much thanks to this camera, I have hardly any pics of some the most important times of my life (graduation, prom, and my last school banquet).

PDC-5070BD

This camera is truely a point and shoot camera. Very simple to use. With 30 seconds of instruction anyone can use this camera. It provides very nice resolution and picture reproduction. Remember this is a camera priced under $100 so it doesn't have the features of the $500 plus cameras. It is very easy to down load the pictures with the USB cable that comes with the camera. You need to upgrade the memory card if you want the video capability of the camera.
A great value for the price

Nice camera needs a little patience

I think this is a very nive camera it take beautiful pictures and it is fairly easy to use the main downfall is when you zoom, it doesn't do it very clearly, the more you zoom the less distiction there is in the picture. But all in all I am very pleased with my choice.

I gave this as a christmas gift to my daughter. She is 20 yrs old and absolutely loves it. She said that it is really easy to use and takes great pictures.

works extremely well

works extremely well takes even better pics than camera she had before which had less pixels even though it was the same brand. She is very happy with it

Love it

I wanted a digital camera for a long time, my gr daughter had this same brand, so she could help me learn how to use it.

Not worth it

I got this camera free, and I'm still disappointed. If you are looking for a vacation camera, then by all means, buy this. Its basic enough that anyone can use it.
But if you want to do any kind of art photography, this camera is worthless. honestly.

you cannot manual focus, you cannot change F stop and shutter speed manually. you CAN change ISO, but that ruins the pictures by adding way too much grain. this camera barely pics up any detail in far objects, and, as i said, it can't focus on ANYTHING.

its a waste.

BATTERY INFO!!!!

I LOVE my camera!!! The only problem is, it hasn't worked for MONTHS! Come to find out this camera will temporarily run on regular batteries, then will ONLY run on LITHION batteries! I bought all kinds of different batteries and the thing won't turn on unless the batteries are brand new or expensive Lithion!

THIS CAMERA NEEDS TO TELL US THIS ON THE BOX!

Happy I didn't throw this camera away before I found this out! Now it works fine.

Questions & Answers
Question : I have a digital polaroid camera model i520 and i need to know how to stop it from taking multiple pictures?
everytime i take a picture it takes 3 of them is their anyone that knows how to stop that because i cant find it anywhere in the directions thanks!

Answer:
Are you sure its model name is i520 not a520 are i532? anyways you have it on burst mode. every camera will list this function somewhere different but it is likely in under the menu somewhere. just go into your menu and look around in there for picture mode or shooting mode or whatever they want to call it and it should give a few options, the one you want is single. Some cameras will not put it under the menu but will have a dedicated button for turning this mode on and off. That button will most likely have a little symbol of a circle with a line pointing to about 11 o'clock. I think it is supposed to look like a stop watch. this button may be incorporated into the toggle up/down/left/right switch. when you find the button make sure you are in the regular shooting mode like you ready to take a picture and press it. you should notice that it changes a symbol on you lcd screen. you should toggle through a couple different symbols for things like 2 second shutter delay, 10 second delay, and hopefully burst mode. Regular single shoot mode is when the symbol just goes away.

Question : Is there such thing as a "digital" polaroid camera?
So, i think that it would be really cool if this kind of camera really existed - maybe it does? But um so what if you could buy a digital camera that only took polaroids and when you got the prints developed they looked like real polaroids? i got the idea becuz my sis has a cheapo digital camera that has a "polaroid' overlay effect however it doesnt look good cuz its crooked and what not but how cool would that be to have a real one so you could pick and choose the ones you wanted and personalize the white area with writing.... cuz real polaroids are WAY TOO EXPENSIVE 4 FILM!

Answer:
Yes, it's made by Polaroid. http://www.polaroid.com/products/product_list.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302028670&bmUID=11912 79020639&bmLocale=en_US&sc=Digital%20Cameras In fact, Polaroid still makes a film camera. http://www.polaroid.com/products/product_list.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302028635&PRODUCT%3C% 3Eprd_id=845524441766994&bmUID=1191279162993&bmLocale=en_US&sc=Handheld

Question : I'm looking for a way to transfer my photos from my Polaroid digital camera.?
i connected the camera to the computer but it won't trensfer.

Answer:
you might have to install the software that came with the camera before the computer will recognize the camera.

Question : do i need a install disk for a polaroid digital camera?
i got a polaroid digital camera off of a friend and it came with no disk!!i dont even know if it needs one.if so where can i go to get the install disk.

Answer:
If your camera uses memory cards a disc is not necessary to get your photos onto the computer. If it uses memory cards, simply use the USB cable (if supplied) or a card reader that accepts the card. It may need a driver if the images are saved internally. If this is the case, try to find your camera model here and download the necessary drivers: http://www.polaroid.com/service/productList.jsp?ATR_ServiceHT=Object+ID%3A+8163873836275835&ATR_Serv iceMRH=Object+ID%3A+8163873836275834&__TYPE=9&attrUptodate=true&createDt=2007-04-17+14%3A24%3A11&cre atedBy=2%2C256%2C197%2C860%2C196%2C362&createdByUser=Zwinggi%2C+Nick&folderID=2%2C534%2C374%2C302%2C 035%2C005&label=Digital+Cameras&modifiedBy=2%2C256%2C197%2C860%2C196%2C353&modifiedByUser=BLUE+MARTI NI%2C+Default+Admin&modifyDt=2007-05-03+14%3A45%3A29&name=DigitalCameras&objectType=9&parentObjectTy pe=SUB_ASSORTMENT&path=%2FAssortments%2FService%2FService%2FDrivers%2FDigitalProducts%2FDigitalCamer as&priority=20&pubVersion=139&sba_id=2534374302035007&sba_parent_id=2%2C534%2C374%2C302%2C035%2C005& shortDesc=Digital+Cameras&status_cd=A&bmUID=1194125432736&bmLocale=en_US Typically, the discs include drivers and some simple editing/viewing/organizing tools. It's difficult when you don't specify the model.

Question : Where can I find a manual on line for Polaroid Digital Camera PDC5070?
I found the manual on line once, but I haven't recently been able to locate it. What I want to know is do I have to depress exposure button half-way down to have a photo in focus? The photos I've taken have been fuzzy - nothing like the Konica Minolta Z1 I had at one time. I suspect the PDC5070 is the digital equivalent of a box brownie.

Question : can i put a sony memory chip in my polaroid digital camera?
My polaroid was a cheap 80 dollar digital, and it sais its memory can be expanded to 1 GB if i buy a memory chip. At the circuit city near me, the polaroid 1 GB chips are 40 dollars, but the sony 1 GB chips are only 20 dollars. they both look the same, so why should i spend more for the same thing?

Answer:
the difference in price is due to the difference in read/write speed. these speeds are gauged in a number like "20x". these speeds can go up to "150x". these high speeds only make a difference in writing speed to the card, so don't expect anything amazing from a more expensive card. since you bought a realitively cheap camera, the sony should be great, the polaroid would be overkill - but would be compatable too.

Question : Why is my digital polaroid camera making all my pictures..?
PINK!!! I have a polaroid camera and i dont know the type but its one of the pink ones that was about $150 and the money goes to help breast cancer. Well when i first got my camera i thought it worked really good but now its making all my pictures have a pink-ish glow. And im not kidding. Is the pink reflecting off of my camera or something? Like idk what to do and i just feel like saving up to buy a new one. what are some good digital cameras that take good qaulity pictures in the daytime and at night?

Answer:
Well I'm not very versed into giving to charities but here's my take. IF you find that it's your camera and nothing you did or didn't do why not just buy the camera and charities do separately. My list of very good brands are Fuji, Sony, Canon and Nikon. Notice I didn't include Polaroid. Consider Canon A630. 4X optical zoom 8 megapixels. Has manual controls in addition to auto, will give you excellent 8X10 print.According to Website dpreview.com Circuit City has it for $212- Also consider Canon A570IS, $171 at Beach Camera and Canon A550 $140 at Beach Camera.

Question : Where can I buy an i733LP polaroid digital camera?
I know that on the polaroid website it says it is coming soon but it says that about all 4 of the PINK digital cameras and yet the others are already sold on the internet or in stores. Could someone at least give me a price estimate??

Answer:
Hi...I am in US and you can buy the i1733 at Walmart Supercenters for $149.67. It's the one my daughter wants for Christmas. Hope this helps...
