Excellent - the 3rd one we've purchased!
I've bought two of these for my company and one for personal use. I'm considering another for personal... it is an excellent camera with outstanding durability. On top of it all, it takes beautiful, clear, crisp pictures withOUT a delay! Only my very expensive DSLR is faster, but not by much!!
A must have for everyone who enjoys photography, but wants to have something they can take anywhere, regardless of the weather, and fit it in their pocket or purse.

Perfect gift for those a little less than careful...
I bought this for my mom and I also bought one for my boyfriend, they both have exclaimed it was their favorite Christmas gift. It's durable, sleek, and lightweight. It does not give away the fact that it is - for all accidental occurences - virtually indestructible.
The options for taking different types of pictures are numerous, but if you are able to take good care of your camera, you don't really need to add the option that makes it able to endure 220lbs of force. The zoom option is also not too significant, if you really like taking close-ups from far away, I suggest a different model.

Great camera
This camera is versatile, easy to use and takes great pictures. Although I have not tried the underwater movie mode yet, I look forward to doing that this summer. Its heavy-duty design takes the worry out of the camera being knocked about. I ordered the strap with the carabiner-type clip for easier attachment to a backpack or belt. This camera, so far, seems to be worth the money.

Stopped working the first time it went into the water
I bought this as a Christmas present for my brother and he said it stopped working the first time he took it into the water.
This might be a defective build but there seems to be plenty of people that had similar problems.

So far, so good
I'm not an expert photographer and unfortunately haven't even read the manual on this one, but I've been carrying it with me and have gotten some pretty good shots. I've always used Canon in the past but felt like the batteries either run down REALLY quickly, or it's coming on while in my purse. I was able to take this one with me for 4 days to visit my family for Christmas without having to charge it. I don't know much about the special features and haven't had any photos printed yet, but it's straightforward enough to use straight away for normal point and shoot snapshots.

Great for us
This is the first above-avg camera I've bought. It is small, durable, takes great shots, and has a fast shutter. No complaints

pleased, few complaints
This replaced my Olympus Stylus 710 that was dropped 1 too many times in the 2.5 years I owned it. During those 2.5 years it had traveled all over North American and to 3 other continents and served me very well.
Very small, very easy to use, tons of features and settings yet easy to just point and shoot (which is largely how I use it).
The benefits of the Stylus 840 over the older camera are more optical zoom, larger lcd, and more megapixels (though for my purposes, ~6 MP is more than enough; picts with this at the highest setting are close to 2MB). There are a few other nice new touches too.
Biggest draw back? Olympus dropped the All-weather protection which is VERY disappointing and why went with Olympus in the first place. In fact, if I didn't already have a case, extra batteries, 2GB memory cards, and familiarity with the controls from my earlier Olympus, I might have considered a Canon.
With that said, I quite like the Olympus and have no regrets or complaints with the quality of the picts.

Great camera!
This camera is great for everyday users. It's relatively simple to figure out but has more complicated features for the more advanced user. The in-camera panorama feature is one-of-a-kind! The image quality is great. Slim and portable. The battery life is very decent.

Love this camera!
I love, love, love this camera. It takes GREAT photos! I have been amazed! It's fun to experiment with all the extra settings but works awesome on automatic. A friend purchased a similar camera the same time I purchased this one. We compared photos and features and she immediately returned hers and traded for this same camera. I highly recommend it!

Life is a blur. Your images should be crisp and clear. The 7.1 megapixel Stylus 760 digital camera combines an impressive suite of features previously unavailable in a single Olympus model. New Dual Image Stabilization technology compensates for camera shake and freezes action with stunning clarity. The camera's All-Weather design seals out moisture so you can safely shoot in the elements. With Bright Capture Technology, you'll get vivid images in low light, without a flash. And share all your great shots on the 2.5" Wide-View LCD, featuring a backlight boost button for enhanced visibility even in direct sunlight.

Outstanding !
An outstanding camera for several reasons.Great price, user friendly, wide range of features, size, quick recovery time, great flash and AMAZING battery life. I have had several Olympus cameras-most recently a D-560 zoom-a THIS one is a quantum leap into the 21st century.Got my wife a Sony (Cybershot DSCW80 7.2MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom and Super Steady Shot-Pink) which is as good as this camera, but a more expense with essentially the same quality and features. If you looking for a great "point and shoot" this IS it -and- it has advanced features when you need them-2 close ups;wide range of automatic shooting situations, etc. I strong recommend this handy, compact digital camera!

Perfect Little Camera
And it is little and light - perfect size to put in your purse or pocket. This is my second Olympus and I really like it - it has tons of great features! I'm not great with technology by any means, but I figured this camera out quickly, and have taken some great pictures. The large viewing screen is great - compared to my old Stylus 410 with a quarter sized screen. I have had no issues with glare or poor pictrue quality. The Olympus software was very easy to load onto my compture and is very easy to use to edit photos! I would recomend this camera !

loved it!
omg i loved this camera! i dont really have much experince with cameras since this one was my first, but compared to other cameras i've seen this one really stood out. the only thing that sucks is that i didnt buy warranty and my sister dropped it on cement! so now i need another one, im actually thinking of getting it repaired but i heard it's a lot more expensive than buying it again. well anyways it took wonderful pictures, which my friends always complimented. i love that you can edit the pictures on the camera! the videos also look really nice. it is a little big, it does fit in your pocket though. i also liked the flash on it!

Disappointing
I just wanted a camera for snapshots and candid photos, nothing fancy. I had this camera for a year, and got poor quality pictures the whole time. It was easy to use, but photos were either grainy or blurred. After consulting the manual several times, no error could be found. It was small and light, but didn't suit my needs.

Olympus Stylus 760
This little camera takes a beating and keeps on ticking. I was holding it up to take a shot of my family of four and neglected to put the strap around my wrist (stupid, I know). The outer bezel is bent, but it still takes great pictures. I don't recommend trying this to test its durability, but if you're looking for a small camera for travel and quick pics, this camera does that and has many great features beyond that.

Question : I got an Olympus digital camera. Not super impressed with the quality -- should i get a refund?
I bought an Olympus 8 megapixel camera with 5X optical zoom. I used to own a 8 megapixel Sony camera... the Sony had excellent quality (Carl Zeiss Lens). The Olympus camera was on sale so i decided to give it a try. it is difficult to take clear, focused pictures with this camera. should i get a refund? What is your experience with olympus cameras?
Marie--what model was your camera?
Answer:
i've got an olympus fe310 (8 mp, 5 x zoom) & photos from it are fantastic. i've tried a pentax with similar specs. but the olympus is far better. what model olympus are you talking about ? are you SURE you've focused correctly before taking picture ? sometimes it is hard to focus on some objects that don't have good definition.

Question : Anyone have an Olympus digital camera?
I've owned two different Olympus cameras now and both times have had trouble with battery life. I'll put in a brand new pair of batteries and within an unreasonable amount of time the camera tells me the battery is dead and turns off. I've tried different brands of batteries and still no luck. What gives? Anyone else have this problem?
Answer:
I'm on my second Olympus also, and there are several issues to content with any digital camera. If you mainly use the camera indoors, the constant firing of the flash will help to kill the batteries. Also remember that using the optical zoom function often, will do likewise. Lastly, leaving the LCD monitor on for long periods will shorten the fun. Answer -go to Target or Walmart and buy rechargeable AA's for $20. This has nothing to do with Olympus.

Question : My Olympus digital camera won't focus, what do I do?
I have an Olympus FE-280 and all of the sudden it just started not focusing. Whenever I turn it on it makes these weird beeping noises and once the picture actually shows up it's all blurry and won't even take un-blurred pictures. I've never dropped it and the camera is only about five months old. Is there anyway that I can fix it?
Answer:
SEND IT IN UNDER WARRANTY

Question : How to import videos INTO an Olympus Digital Camera?
Usually, there is a guide for how to import FROM a digital camera.
My question is, how do you import videos back into a digital camera?
Camera Type: Olympus
Type of File: AVI
I'm trying to display my birthday video from my T.V., but the file was taken from another camera and sent by email from a friend...
Thank you for your patience.

You can TRY this,
Use Windows Explorer screen. It's a split screen. ON the left is your drives (including the d: or e: ((whatever your camera is connect to & your compter drives too).
Have your camera ON & connected & in the USB transfer mode:
Click on the file on the left where your video is saved.
In the right pane find the video, right click & COPY it,
ON the Left pane, click your camera drive,
Click on the drive or the camera or the internal storage folder within the camera drive, and
then right click & choose PASTE.
You'll have your original on your computer & a copy in your camera.

well here's what happens.
whenever i plug in the usb cable from my computer to my camera, the camera automatically shuts off. it doesn't do that when not connected.
the batteries are full,
it takes pictures and works fine.
my computer is a windows.
im using the program that came with the camera (olympus master 2).
oh and it use to upload just fine before now
oh and the computer also doesn't detect anything.
so why does it shut off when conected?
yes the batteries are new

The batteries may be fully charged, but are they in good condition? If you've got another set of batteries, or a DC supply, I'd try those.
