good bargain
i've always liked olympus cameras, and this one did not disappoint. this model has since been discontinued, but there are still a few available if you look. the price is right, the performance is typical Olympus. point and shoot ease, but enuf bells and whistles to keep your interest.

Camera is really durable!
I have had this camera for over a year now. A few months after I got it, I had an issue where the lense wouldn't extend. There was a jam, so I sent it back to Olympus and it was repaired. It took them 5 days to inspect it and repair it, since then I have had NO problems with this camera. My husband actually dropped it the other week from a height of about 5ft 4inches (he is 6ft 4 and was getting ready to take a picture) and the camera still works GREAT! My only complaint is how fast it does go through batteries. We have 8 sets of Energizer 2500 mAH rechargeables, and we need every one of them.

Dissapointed
After owning a few digital cameras, I decided to go with the Olympus SP350 mainly because of all the great reviews it's gotten. I have two small children and the most important feature that I look for in a digital camera is the shutter speed as I like to take lots of candid photos of my kids. I could not do that with the Olympus. Every time I got ready to take a photo the time for the shutter to go off was extremely slow thereby losing the chance to take a great picture. The battery life is quite limited. It would drain after taking several pictures. In summary, although the camera took nice photos it was just not the one for me and if you have young kids and like to take consecutive candid photos of them, I suggest that you spend a few hundred dollars and buy a digital SLR camera. I bought the EOS Canon RebelXT and I have not been happier. The shutter speed is excellent and the battery last for days.

I loved this camera up until its death...
I'd owned a few digital cameras before settling on this one, and I never regretted my purchase until now. I say this because the camera is dead, and Olympus estimates the repair at $174. That's just plain crazy.
Turns out my problem is a fairly common one, so if you get this camera my advice would be to get the protection plan. My camera lasted about two years.
Contrary to the negative reviews on here, I think it got excellent battery life. Try a Nikon CoolPix if you want to see crappy battery life. Even with plain old AA's this camera would power up for a good while... but I would typically get those super-duper lithium batteries. You pay more but they last far longer.
As for the slow shutter speed, I agree it is a problem at time. But I started using the sports setting for my action shots. This helped.
This is a good little camera, and it took great pictures. Just be aware of the fact that it's most likely mechanical failure will cost you the price of a new camera. I'm not a fan of protection plans, but I would definitely suggest it here.

its hard to make a review over a product you dont have.
i ordered a camera 2 monthes ago and i have yet to recieve it. not only that, it said on my product tracking that it was delivered to the back door. i am on a military army base in iraq so thats impossible. when i tried to contact the company to find out what is going on (over 5 emails to be exact) i recieved not one response. so, after they took out the money from my bank account, i recieved no product and no response. im in a combat zone so its hard for me to get to a computer/phone. so this has been one frustrating experiance. i will NEVER do bussiness with this company and its pretty obvious to me that they dont care.

EXCELLENT COMPACT DIGITAL
Ok i read reviews about this product and the nikon cool pix. I own a large SLR Nikon D80. I ave shot with a small canon powershot for years. I started in manual 35 mm. This camera is great. I was happy for years with the photo quality of my Canon , as well with their software and support. It was an early model and slow. I am learning my big Nikon D80 and for its money i am sure it can do loads of brilliant things, still not terribly active with it and disappointed in Nikons Web support and image quality sometimes. As i said it may be i haven't unlocked its potential but small reservations along with reviews led me to be suspect of going with Nikon on my new compact digital. A friend suggested olympus, i saw some of her photos from a very basic and older model and the color was amazing...stil hesitant to go with a manufacture i never handled, the reviews seemed positive and the photos i had seen were proof. I bought this model and almost everything is perfect. - It SHoots very large format photos for later processing. -Adjusts quickly, -the flash photograpy retains the color you were looking for in the first place - preset modes, menus and choices are fully functional and usable as tools. -enough manual adjustment and preview mode to real have some flexibility in creating the right look in the photo. -menu was easy to learn -though i have photoshop, its own software program seems very straight forward and functional. -movie mode -panorama -they don't really explain enough about it various features and settings in the product description. Cons are: it only has the digital viewer, no physical view finder. ie you find yourself shading it in bright light to see what you are trying to photo. not a problem for me though, everything else is too nice -as well they use the their own media type exclusive to Olympus. I got over that too! Great buy you won't be disappointed

Great Overall Camera
This camera is a great balance of high quality pictures, zoom, price, size, and durability. As seen in the pics at Disneyland and California Adventures, it takes excellent pictures that capture sharp details. The camera also suffered a drop during this trip, and the fall didn't phase it at all. Another selling point for me was that it's weather-proof and that a rechargeable battery is included. You don't have to worry about precipitation spoiling the camera or buying batteries/rechargeable battery kit. The only downside to this camera was that I had to buy the memory card separately (but that would have had to happen with any other camera, as I found in my research - I recommend the 2GB...nearly 500 pics on super high quality!). This camera is the total package and I highly recommend it!

Grainy Pictures!
I bought this camera after doing plenty of research and previously owning an Olympus camera. Well, it seems the 5 year old Olympus worked better than this one.
I hate this camera! If you are shooting outdoors with plenty of light or macro pictures, your shots will probably come out alright.
Any pictures I have taken indoors, in low light with a flash come out looking grainy, and several look blurry, even though I have image stabilizer turned on. The image stabilizer doesn't appear to do anything.
The zoom is also horrible, and all the picture I have used zoom on have turned out grainy.
I'm very disappointed, especially considering I paid [...] for this camera. I think I'm going to buy a Canon to replace it.

Good little camera
Compact so it fits in you pocket, high tech enough to dance with it's bigger counterparts. This little camera does it all. I comparison shopped for several weeks comparing and contrasting multiple cameras from cannon, kodak, hp, sony, panasonic, and olympus, and none had features like this, a small size, and in this price range. The only disadvantage below the stylus 710 and 810 is the megapixel count and no image stabilization.
6 megapixels, 2.5 inch lcd viewing screen, and a low price for what you get. OH, DID I MENTION EXCELLENT PICTURES. I have played with this before for several days editing the photos, playing with the on-board and the computer imaging package, and I see nothing wrong with this camera for an everyday average user like me. And with it's weather resistence, nice for a clumsy average user like me. Also the battery life is very adequate, about 120 photos or more, with slide shows, editing ect... This is well worth the investment, saving your families memories in a fit and proper manner.
So if you feel you don't need more megapixels, go ahead and get this camera for the less money, but the major difference from a 710 or an 810 is the digital image stabilization. Check out the new 740's 750's and 760's also.
Also, the Olympus Mastersoftware is very easy to use, And with panoramic feature, 3d, and Extra ART Features unlocked by Olympus Brand-Olympus Stamped Type H HD, this camera becomes even more of a pleasure to own. you can edit photos on the computer, or right in the palm of your hand. Both ways, this camera will make you feel like a pro in no time.

Great buy.
I purchased two of these for my kids, one is a snowboard instructor in Tahoe and the other married and playing on the east coast. My son puts this thing to the test and it shines, they both love their cameras. I wanted a somewhat weather resistant camera because of their lifestyles and the large screen and the feel of the camera sold me. The price was a plus. The only downside is no sound. Oh well I usually purchase & shop hard and purchase with a plan and I got more than I expected. Right product for my needs. Oh and you should see fresh powder from 11000 ft!!!!

Reliable performance and flexible batteries
Good quality photos, reliable performance and easy to get extra batteries (AA) in a pinch. I like the ability to record a short sound clip with the still photos. Very handy when taking many similar photos that I want to make notes about when I return to the office. I use it to take photos of outdoor plants. The flash is a little weak for moderate distances indoors.
Rating :
serious problems
This was my Olympus camera; my previous digital ones were Fuji and those were generally superior. Here are my problems with this camera:
- There's a delay of a couple of seconds between pressing the button and the shutter clicking which really sucks for action shots.
- I've had some difficulty with outdoor scenic shots... there's a tendency for shadow-covered areas to come out very dark.
- Flash photos often look terrible.
Rating :
response can be tricky
I was unimpressed with my purchase because of the 'shutter lag'. I found a review that shed some light on why this was happening to me. Here is an excerpt of what I found "...Shutter lag, the delay between depressing the shutter button and capturing the image, measured an impressive 1/10 second when pre-focused and just 4/10 second including autofocus. In single exposure mode, the shot to shot delay averaged 1 second without the flash and between 4 and 5 seconds with flash, depending on the distance to the subject. " So, it seems that picture quality (resolution) and using the pre-focus feature can drastically affect the performance of this model.
Rating :
Shutter Lag Decoded
To all of you out there who have experienced shutter lag...
Simple- To simply keep the pictures from blurring, turn the dial to "sports mode."
Advanced-To take super close-up or high res. pictures, set the dial to "manual" and set the shutter speed at at 1/60 or lower.
To the guy who wants to take pictures of himself...
Set your camera on a tripod. Go to Manual Mode. Hit ok/menu. go up (to the picture of the clock) and turn the "wait" on. The flash should then fire 12 seconds after you press the shutter button.
Rating :
A great amateur camera...
I've had this camera for almost a year now, and I'm very happy with it! Photos come out clearly, and you can load them onto your computer for editing or emailing within moments. There are also a number of easy-to-use bonus features, such as self portrait and movie clips. If you're like me -- someone who only takes photos on vacation and at family gatherings, wanting to capture the memories with good quality but no fuss -- this is definitely your camera!

Question : I need to know how to transfer pictures from my computer to a memory stick? I have an Olympus Digital Camera?
and the USB to connect to the computer. I recently bought a digital frame not knowing I needed to use a memory stick. I always transfer the pictures from my memory stick to my camera and then delete them. Now I would like to put them on the frame. If there is a way please let me know. Thanks.
Answer:
Memory Stick? Those are used by Sony exclusively. Your camera probably uses xD memory cards.
Now to your question; with each digital image frame there are instructions on how to fill the memory card of choice to store images you want the frame to exhibit. Most digital frames will take all current memory cards (CF, SD, xD and yes, Memory Sticks as well as USB flash memory modules.
Just follow the instructions and your frame will be able to display your choice of images.

Question : What Program comes with the digital olympus camera ?
The program that pops up when you plug the camera into the computer.
It's a Olympus FE-100 4.0 megapixel, we bought it like one or two years ago...
If that helps. Whatever.
Answer:
go to the manufacture site
and it will tell you about the program

Question : Anyone have an Olympus digital camera?
I've owned two different Olympus cameras now and both times have had trouble with battery life. I'll put in a brand new pair of batteries and within an unreasonable amount of time the camera tells me the battery is dead and turns off. I've tried different brands of batteries and still no luck. What gives? Anyone else have this problem?
Answer:
I'm on my second Olympus also, and there are several issues to content with any digital camera. If you mainly use the camera indoors, the constant firing of the flash will help to kill the batteries. Also remember that using the optical zoom function often, will do likewise. Lastly, leaving the LCD monitor on for long periods will shorten the fun. Answer -go to Target or Walmart and buy rechargeable AA's for $20. This has nothing to do with Olympus.

Question : I have an olympus digital camera that keeps saying my "sim card is locked"?
I have not used the camera for about four months and I had never put a pass code of any kind into it but now it's asking me to enter my code. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Question : I got an Olympus digital camera. Not super impressed with the quality -- should i get a refund?
I bought an Olympus 8 megapixel camera with 5X optical zoom. I used to own a 8 megapixel Sony camera... the Sony had excellent quality (Carl Zeiss Lens). The Olympus camera was on sale so i decided to give it a try. it is difficult to take clear, focused pictures with this camera. should i get a refund? What is your experience with olympus cameras?
Marie--what model was your camera?
Answer:
i've got an olympus fe310 (8 mp, 5 x zoom) & photos from it are fantastic. i've tried a pentax with similar specs. but the olympus is far better. what model olympus are you talking about ? are you SURE you've focused correctly before taking picture ? sometimes it is hard to focus on some objects that don't have good definition.
