Question : Digital Camera Wide Angle Converter confusion?
I have a Konica Minolta Dimage Z6 digital camera. It is not an SLR. I want to zoom in as much as possible and am under the impression that getting a lense attachment might help me to zoom in even more. I also like to take sports shots so slowing an image for a clear shot would be paramount. I am looking online for more information but am not camer literate so maybe you can help. Does the following information I have copied from a website seem to describe what I am looking to accomplish?

George is correct...the wide angle does the oppostite of what you want. The Z6 has a 12x zoom lens and I was unable to find a teleconverter (this magnifies or zooms in on the image more) for the camera on the Internet shopping sites.
But 12x is very good for a zoom lens so you should be ok. Here's a couple tips for sports photography:
Note: The maximum light sensitivity of the Z6 is ISO 320. This is not very sensitive and may hamper your ability to get good shots at night. You should be ok in bright sunlight though.
Set the ISO at 320
Set your exposure mode for aperature priority
Set the aperature at f2.8
You could even try setting the ev control for -.3 or -.7 as long as it doesn't underexpose your photos. This will allow you to get a little faster shutter speed. Don't underexpose night photos though as this will lead to increased noise.
You will get the fastest shutter speed to freeze action this way.
Your flash only has a range of 6-10 feet so it won't be useful unless you're right on top of the action. Double check to see that the flash is turned off or it may slow down your shutter speed
Shooting tip: Pan your camera with the action so the subject stays relatively still (and sharp) in the center of the frame and the background will be blurred. This will give your pics the feeling of motion.

I have a konica minolta G600 digital camera that I purchased used a couple of years ago for less than $100 on ebay. recently though I've seen the same exact camera on Amazon and other sites for prices reaching nearly $900. The SAME freakin' camera. I'm just trying to get an idea where this insane price jump came from. please respond only if you can give a relavant answer. Thank you

You seem to have found a deal. The big plus for this camera has to do with the fact that it can use both the most popular SD memory card and the propriatary Sony Memory Stick. In addition is has one of the largest sensors found in P&S digital cameras

Question : Where can I find a manual on line for Polaroid Digital Camera PDC5070?
I found the manual on line once, but I haven't recently been able to locate it. What I want to know is do I have to depress exposure button half-way down to have a photo in focus? The photos I've taken have been fuzzy - nothing like the Konica Minolta Z1 I had at one time. I suspect the PDC5070 is the digital equivalent of a box brownie.

Question : In your opinion or from reviews overall how do you rate the follwing digital camera companies best to worst.?

( I have omitted companies such as: Casio, HP, Samsung)
becuase they don't really make their own camera lenses per say. And that they clearly aren't among the upper tier of camera company groups. Although they make good camera's just not part of that select group of pioneers in the camera world.
As well as ...Konica minolta just becuase they arent that common.

Canon and Fujifilm and Nikon are probably the best. The canon powershot, the fujifilm finepixZ, and the nikon coolpix are great choices for compact cameras. The finepix is pretty, clear, and is probably my favorite, but all three are good. It is simply a personal choice.

You can probably use a cable you already have. I lost the cable to my Palm Tungsten 2. It has a USB connector on one end and a mini firewire on the other. I tried using a cable from my external DVD burner, and it worked perfectly.

I think the main problem would be that your cameras lag time to take the picture the instance you press the shutter button is the Culprit to your unsharp, blury pictures. Because it would not take the picture unless your camera see's the subject in focus. Or that there was not enough light to give your photo the correct hand holdable exposure.
Setting up your camera to a higher ISO might do the trick, but beware of the noise. Try some of these alternatives.
If you want to salvage what you already have this is what I would do. For about $20 bucks you could get a wireless flash booster. Set your camera to manual. Set the shutter speed between 1/60th to 1/25 sec. Set your aperture to f 8. Set your camera flash to its lowest setting. Set the flash booster so that its trigger sensor sees the camera flash go off. Then this would give you great pictures of your kids. This would also alow for placment of the flash way above the camera lense to eliminate red eye. And add that natural lighting effect.
On a budget and want a camera that would last a very long time:
If you want a camera that could track your subjects movements and take the picure while still in focus. I would get the Nikon D40 ($600).
Available in December. Very light easy to use digital SLR. Cons would be that its a bit on the big side. Most kids would be aware that they are being photographed and most shots would be mostly posed. Unless you invest in a longer telephoto lens like the 70-200 f2.8 AF VR.
On a budget and want a camera that would last a very long time (pocket size): I would get the Canon SD900 ($425). Titanium shell will last for years. Image Stabilizer to take crisp hand holdable shots. Cons would only be that it has a small 3x optical zoom which would mean that you would have to be pretty close to take a great quality picture.
Not too big, not too limited lens, not too expensive, not bad camera:
Olympus SP-510 ($260) Fast response time, long 10x zoom lens and online support on how to take better pictures. This camera design was invented by Olympus. It was such a nice design that other manufactures such as Minolta and Kodak. None of them perfected it except Olympus. With rubber gromets around the lense and battery door. It keeps the dust out. And a digital image stabilizer to help keep the subject in focus. And its 10x optical zoom to capture candid shots of your kids in the moment.
Distraction:
Keep your kids from moving too much by giving them a toy that will allow them to take pictures as well. Give them a kid proof digital camera and watch them take pictures of you and what they think are picture worthy. Then take the digital camera you have now and take pictures of them.
And if money is no object:
I would get a Nikon D2XS ($4,700). Camera capable of taking pictures only when in focus. Not only that, you could set up the camera to take pictures when a subject crosses a predetermined focusing zone that you have set up. For example if you set the camera to take the shot when someone crosses 15 feet away and is in focus, the camera will not take the shot if the the subject is 14 feet and not in foucus. It will only take the shot if the subject gets to the 15 feet focused zone. Great camera if your kid happens to run as fast as that little boy in the movie "The Incredibles".
I know that this might be overkill, but I just love cameras. Hope this helps.

Question : Why my 2GB SD card no longer works in my digital camera?
I have a Konica Minolta digital camera. My 2GB sd card which is probably about 6 months old, used to work in my camera, but now it just says "Unable to use card." BUT the card still works on other card readers, such as my printer. And no, the disk lock is not on.
I tried another 2GB card in my camera, and it works fine. Why can't my camera read that SD card? Does anyone have any insightful answers or solutions to my problem?
