Still Testing but Poor Results so Far

I received this camera for Christmas and I have just about decided to send it back. It seems to need very good lighting to take a sharp picture. If the subject is too far away or too dark, the pictures come out blurry. Not just dark but blurry like a water color painting that had water splashed on it. I have reset the camera to factory settings and will try taking some more test shots. For now, my 3MP Kodack Easyshare camera takes better pictures than the M1093.

Kodak M1093 Camera

This is a tiny little camera, which is EXACTLY what I wanted. This is a small camera designed to take quick shots a lot better than the throw away cameras or a cell phone but along the same lines, not really a serious photography unit. I would not use it for my high quality shots of vacation, holidays, or special events. This is not to say that it cannot take high quality, or very good pictures. It does all that is was advertised to do. It does HD video and very good pictures within the limits of a 3X only and tiny internal flash Camera. It needs more zoom and more power in the flash to compete with the Canon G10 or similar cameras.

The only problem I had was the shipping using Amazon Prime. It took 6 business days to get a 2-day shipment. This may be UPS as they have gotten TERRIBLE since they took over DHL. Amazon may need to rethink the shipper choice if this continues to be a problem.
I would highly recommend the camera as a carry-along-in-your-pocket camera.

Great Camera So Far

Purchased this camera in November (2008) and so far it has been a great camera. Battery lastes long. It is easy to operate. The software is the best...even better than the Canon software from my wife's camera. I wanted to support an American company (with the economic conditions) so I bought a Kodak and have been very pleased.

Great little camera! Ordering 2nd one today!

Love this camera. I have one that I bought about 6 mos. ago and I am getting ready to buy a 2nd one. My husband uses the 1st one all the time and he likes it because its compact. I like it cause I can carry it around in my purse and use it whenever I want. It takes awesome pictures....I haven't had but a few pictures that didn't turn out...but that was me taking a crappy picture. This will be my 4th Kodak camera. I don't know what people keep talking about the LCD screen being hard to see...In certain lighting conditions ALL camera lcd's are hard to see. I have Canon Rebel XSI and it's the same problem. If the light is really bright and/or really dim they are all hard to see at times. This doesn't bug me. Its just a known fact that this is problem. It really disturbs me that people give it a bad rap for just that problem. The bottom line...It takes really good pictures and its easy to use. Thats all that really matters to me...

Not The Greatest.

I got this camera to take to China with me so I could remember everything I did and saw there. It worked fine the first 4 weeks, then on the 5th week the lens part wouldnt come out right or go back in at all. I was frustrated, especially since I was on a trip and couldnt have it fixed right away. I sent it back in when I got home and had it fixed. After that it worked fine, then started up with the lens thing AGAIN so I sent it back again asking if they could replace it ( I thought it was just a dud) and they did. This camera worked fine until a week ago when the screen started shaking crazily when I turned it on and now its completely blank and wont let me see the pictures I take. Although when this camera worked, it took great pics and was really clear, its just not one that I would recommend.

Great Entry-Level Camera

Prior to purchasing this unit, I did a fairly exhaustive internet search of user-reviews of entry-level digital cameras. Since this is my first digital camera, the most important factors for me were ease-of-use and overall user-friendliness. On both those counts, I can say the unit performs remarkably well. My wife, who is very much a non-techie, has had no trouble using the camera for taking pictures of her eBay merchandise. Clarity and resolution are very good. And the camera interfaces fairly seamlessly with the included Kodak software and Kodak Gallery. Battery life also seems remarkably good. It would have been nice, though, if Kodak had included even a simple cloth carrying case. The only reason I didn't give the camera five stars was because of the difficulty viewing subject matter outdoors with the LCD viewfinder, especially in bright sunlight. The glare makes it almost impossible to see your subject. In fairness, though, this seems to be a problem with LCD viewfinders in general, not just Kodak's. But overall, it's a great little camera.

I love this camera!!!

I bought this camera because my previous digital camera was hugs, bulky, and just difficult to use, and I was getting ready to go overseas for a few weeks as part of an international adoption. I wanted something that was compact and took good pics. This pretty red camera has a huge (3") display that fills almost the whole back side of the camera. The one thing I noticed right away is that when you snap a picture, it immediately takes the pic. My old digital camera had a noticeable delay in between pushing the shutter button and when the picture was actually taken, leaving plenty of time to move and blur the picture and plenty of time to miss those precious spontaneous pics. It also takes short videos which came in very handy on my visit trip! The camera is very easy to use, and a whole 10 megapixels which is amazing for the very reasonable price of the camera. I love it!!!

Easyshare software accompanying Kodak camera

I purchased a Kodak EasyShare camera, M1033 10MP red digital camera through Amazon. Upon receipt of the camera, I followed Kodak's directions and first downloaded the included software into my computer. This caused my computer to crash and cost me $190 for the services of a computer technician to get my computer back up and running. The technician stated that the Kodak software frequently adversely affects the operation of computers because it, simply, is inferior. Ironically, I am very pleased with the performance of the camera itself but the software has convinced me that I will buy no more Kodak products.

I'm being generous with 1 star

Kodak EasyShare M893IS 8.1MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Silver) Worst camera I've ever owned. I have had 3 Kodak EasyShare cameras before and loved every one of them. I bought this because of that but have regretted that decision ever since. First the lens kept getting stuck either in or out and the camera wouldn't take any photos. I sent it back for service. Got it back with a note that said nothing was wrong with it. Same thing happened when we were on vacation, I got stuck using the throw away cameras. Sent it back again, they said they fixed it but it happened again. The third time they did replace the camera with a "reconditioned" one. It has worked for 3 months but now the lens is starting to stick again.

Along with it not working properly the pictures are just horrible. The action pictures are to dark if you are inside. IF you use the inside setting there is no action setting. Everything is blurry, low light and just plan bad quality.

Don't buy this camera if you have children and want to take quick and fast photos. Focus is extremely bad and very very slow. Image Stablization is a joke.

I think I'm giving up on kodak and going with a Nikon or Canon.

Very pleased with this camera!

I had been using an eight year old Kodak digital camera (DC280 2.0 megapixel) and felt it was time to upgrade!....I narrowed my choices down to the Olympus FE-340, the Canon SD1100-IS, and this one....I actually purchased the Olympus for the extra Optical Zoom that it has but was so disappointed in that camera's picture quality that I returned it and purchased this one....I would still like to see what the pictures look like on the Canon but the screen on that one is considerably smaller and I just don't care for the way the controls are situated....this camera is very easy to use, my old camera still takes sharper pictures I believe but this one produces great pictures for the most part, 99% of my usage is for online so I can't really utilize all of the megapixels, but a huge plus in my opinion is that the battery charges right off your computer's USB port as well as coming with an AC charger, and I love this particular purple color!

Great pix. Love it!

I don't know why the person who rated this camera 1 star had so much trouble, but it's unfortunate and there are always duds. I have a cherry though.

This camera takes really clear pictures with very fast shots. It takes the shot as soon as I hold down the button, and even when my dogs are wrestling we still get super clear shots. Image stabilization is genius!

I've owned a canon for a while and it was nice, but it started to have noise go across the screen that was affecting the shots. It was a good camera for many years though. This one, I must say, is WAY more user friendly! I didn't even have to read the manual.

Question : Question about Kodak digital camera and windows movie maker?
I have a Kodak digital "easy share" camera. It records video and i've put a couple video files from my camera directly on my computer. I can view them through Quicktime or on the internet (after uploaded), but windows media player doesnt work for them. They are in ".mov" format, and i dont know why i cant play them on windows. I also want to know why it wont let me upload them onto windows movie maker to edit and make a movie out of them. It says that ".mov" files are uploadable under WMM help, yet every time i try to upload them it says something along the lines of it not being compatable. Does anybody know why this is? Is there a way i can change it or fix it? I've gone through windows help of all sorts and cant seem to come to a solution. Serious answers only please. Thankyou!!!

Answer:

Question : Can a Kodak digital camera record footage from a TV?
I want to plug my Kodak camera into my TV so it can record video game footage. Does anyone know if this works? If anyone has done this before please assist me! I appreciate it!

Answer:
It might. You might have better results if you just buy a video capture card for your computer. It will be a lot cheaper too.

Question : Kodak Digital camera, c653, got dampened in water is it repairable?
I got the kodak c653 digital camera which got dampened, can it be repaired if yes whom do i need to show? i stay at hyderabad, please suggest..

Answer:
Electronics and water don't go well together. If it works after drying out, great. If not, the water probably caused a short circuit which would make it doubtful that it can be repaired. However, I've seen electronics survive water damage, but the battery was ruined. You might get lucky and get by with only having to get a new battery.

Question : Has anyone used the new Kodak digital camera to take sports pics in a high school gym?
I have a camera but the pictures always come out blury. I was told I need a stableization in my camera like the new Kodak has. I want to make sure if I get that camera it will work fine. It is frustrating because I want to take good action shots of my son on the court and they come out blury. Any feedback?

Answer:
sorry you heard that. a stabilizer takes away your hand shaking not an object moving. the light in a gym seems bright. but, it fools the camera. if you write an email to me and tell me what kind of camera you have - I might be able to help you. the best thing you can do without changing the camera settings - is to get as close as you can and use the flash.

Question : How can I get a clearer picture on my Kodak digital camera?
I have a P850 Kodak digital camera and I can't get close up pictures ( of flowers, animals etc..) to be very clear. Any suggestions?

Answer:
well if you have the 24-140 lens than your minimum focusing distance is 2.0 - 20.4 inches in macro focusing range according the datasheet online i found for this camera. if you are staying within those limits and have the lens or camera set to macro it should be in focus. if not try using a tripod to keep the camera steady alot of times its you moving and you don't realize it. if not staying within 2.0-20.4 inches of your subject and you need to get further or closer try close up filters wich any decent camera store should sell and carry. or try buying a macro lens which only does macro. lmk if these solutions don't help- i love helping solve camera problems like this.

Question : Transfering pictures from Kodak digital camera to Dell Desktop?
I recently reformatted my hard drive. Before I would plug my Kodak digital camera in and then a menu would pop up and I could transfer my pictures from my camera to my Dell Dimenson 3000 desktop. I could also do some minor editing like the darkness and cropping. Now when I plug in the camera, nothing happens. Do I need to reinstall a driver or software. I had whatever was standard/came with the computer. What do I need to get it back to the way it was before I reformatted the computer? I already have the CD that came with camera and tried D/L software from Kodak. Both are the same. I don't like that program, too complicated. I am looking for the program that came with the computer, but not sure what it would be called.

Answer:
If you go to the Kodak website, you can type in the model of the camera that you have and it will give you the option of downloading the updated drivers for your camera as well as the updated "EasyShare" software. No need to look for you CD that came with the camera. You may have to register on the site but it's ad/spy-free anyway and you can opt-out of emails. Hope that helps.

Question : Would this memory card be compatible a Kodak Easyshare digital camera?
The camera: Kodak EasyShare C613 6.2MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom The memory card: Kingston SD Memory Card Would this work alright? I am new to digital cameras, so I have no clue what works with what.

Answer:
Yes, C613 uses SD cards.

Question : i recently broke the internal screen of my kodak digital camera. Is it fixable?
the camera was a kodak c513 eashy share camera. the external screen isn't cracked, but the internal screen is. the camera only costs about $85, but it is sold out in most stores. how much would it cost to fix, if at all fixable?

Answer:
It can be fixed, but it would probably cost $85 to fix, or more. So, you must ask yourself, is this worth fixing? You can easily get a much better camera for $100, or an even better one for $150. Personally, I would just buy a new camera.
