Not The Greatest.
I got this camera to take to China with me so I could remember everything I did and saw there. It worked fine the first 4 weeks, then on the 5th week the lens part wouldnt come out right or go back in at all. I was frustrated, especially since I was on a trip and couldnt have it fixed right away. I sent it back in when I got home and had it fixed. After that it worked fine, then started up with the lens thing AGAIN so I sent it back again asking if they could replace it ( I thought it was just a dud) and they did. This camera worked fine until a week ago when the screen started shaking crazily when I turned it on and now its completely blank and wont let me see the pictures I take. Although when this camera worked, it took great pics and was really clear, its just not one that I would recommend.

Great Entry-Level Camera
Prior to purchasing this unit, I did a fairly exhaustive internet search of user-reviews of entry-level digital cameras. Since this is my first digital camera, the most important factors for me were ease-of-use and overall user-friendliness. On both those counts, I can say the unit performs remarkably well. My wife, who is very much a non-techie, has had no trouble using the camera for taking pictures of her eBay merchandise. Clarity and resolution are very good. And the camera interfaces fairly seamlessly with the included Kodak software and Kodak Gallery. Battery life also seems remarkably good. It would have been nice, though, if Kodak had included even a simple cloth carrying case. The only reason I didn't give the camera five stars was because of the difficulty viewing subject matter outdoors with the LCD viewfinder, especially in bright sunlight. The glare makes it almost impossible to see your subject. In fairness, though, this seems to be a problem with LCD viewfinders in general, not just Kodak's. But overall, it's a great little camera.

Very disappointed with this camera
I'm not sure if I received a bad camera or not but about 1 month into using this camera, the flash didn't seem to be working properly. All of my photos were either very dark or overexposed even though I had it on Auto Flash mode and the flash appeared to be going off. I sent it in for repair once (it was under warranty but I had to pay the shipping charges). It was returned to me stating it was fixed but I still had the same problem. This was so frustrating as this was my only camera and I was missing key moments in my kids' lives. I sent it in again and this time they seemed to fix the flash problem but I spent far too much time talking to customer service about this. Even with the flash fixed, I still feel that pictures were blurry and not crisp. Also, it is impossible to take a picture outdoors in bright sunlight- you cannot see anything in the LCD screen (there is no viewfinder) so you have to guess if you are taking a good picture. I ended up getting a Canon Powershot A590IS and I am so much happier. I would not recommend this Kodak camera.

Great little camera! Ordering 2nd one today!
Love this camera. I have one that I bought about 6 mos. ago and I am getting ready to buy a 2nd one. My husband uses the 1st one all the time and he likes it because its compact. I like it cause I can carry it around in my purse and use it whenever I want. It takes awesome pictures....I haven't had but a few pictures that didn't turn out...but that was me taking a crappy picture. This will be my 4th Kodak camera. I don't know what people keep talking about the LCD screen being hard to see...In certain lighting conditions ALL camera lcd's are hard to see. I have Canon Rebel XSI and it's the same problem. If the light is really bright and/or really dim they are all hard to see at times. This doesn't bug me. Its just a known fact that this is problem. It really disturbs me that people give it a bad rap for just that problem. The bottom line...It takes really good pictures and its easy to use. Thats all that really matters to me...

no view finder but wow!
Couldn't be happier. I am not a professional photographer, nor a seasoned amateur. I just like taking good pictures. The zoom is terrific, I use it as point & shoot and in manual mode. I love all the options. No viewfinder, but I am not visually impaired and see enough with lcd display and my eyes to compose in bright sunlight. I live in Florida and the sun isn't brighter anywhere else in continental USA. Buy this camera and enjoy!

Kodak short comings
Great camera, good optics and pictures...only bad thing is it DOES NOT have a viewfinder, only LCD screen. This will make outdoor shooting a pain in the rear. This was not clear in the product discription and is the only disappointment with this camera.

Great Camera
This is a great camera, especially for the price. As you learn how to use its features, it gets better. Not heavy and bulky like some more expensive ones, man it takes great pictures and videoes.

The Best Camera
This by far the best camera we have ever owned! We own the docking station too, and we get the best pictures! It takes such good pictures, our son has asked us to take the pictures for his up comming wedding. What a complement to the pictures this camera takes. You will not go wrong with this one.

Great camera, BAD audio on videos
This camera is really great. I have only one complaint. The mic they used in this camera makes the video feature unacceptable. Anything louder than a whisper causes a painful crackling on video playback (on camera and after transfer to computer). This model should be recalled for this reason. Kodak support is very unhelpful; it has been sent in for repair under warranty two times, and Kodak won't admit there is an issue with the audio. I have had two other digital cameras with video capability that were inferior cameras, but had MUCH better sound than this camera. Kodak will not replace the camera with a different model or give me my money back. I have not had trouble with this camera eating batteries as in other reviews. The zoom and image stabilization combo is pretty dang amazing. I would recommend this camera to anyone only if they are not interested in video capability. Too bad. I love everything else.

Easy To Use, Great Pictures...
I've had this camera for over two years now, and I STILL love it. I was recently looking to replace it with a newer model(Z1012 or Z1485), but after playing with them in the store, I just can't let go of my Z712. I've always used Kodak, mainly because their software is so user friendly, and I upgraded to this camera from the C-class. I was wanting something more then a pocket camera, but not as fancy as an SLR...this is the PERFECT in-between!
The main reason I love this camera so much is the click-to-capture speed. When I hit the button, I expect the camera to take the picture that second, not 2 seconds later (the C-class did this, which was VERY annoying at Nascar races or football games). Also, the 12 zoom has been very convenient to have on family vacations. I have a young son, and this camera has been awesome at capturing his day-to-day activities. I use the Energizer CRV3 Lithium Photo batteries for it, and they last a LONG time, usually a few months per battery!
It's a nice size, but some may find it a bit cumbersome at first, especially if your used to little pocket size cameras. The first time we took this to Disney, I wasn't sure if I'd made the right choice in getting it due to it's bulkiness, but as soon as I saw my pictures, I was in love! I bough a generic camera case for it, and my husband wears it on his belt during trips, so we've adjusted!
Overall, I DEFINITELY recommend this camera. I'm always on the hunt for the latest and greatest, but it's gonna take A LOT for me to replace this one. If you're just an average, takes pictures of the family kinda person, then you'll LOVE this camera!

Awesome camera...but...
We are super pleased with the quality of the camera. Picture quality is awesome. However, batteries drain super quickly. It doesn't work with just double A batteries...you have to use the C2 (Double AA's taped together) and they need to be Kodak. We have bought rechargeables...don't work. So, if you are willing to spend $10 everytime you need a set of batteries...it's worth it. Again, the camera is our favorite and the best...you will see us paying $10 for batteries...

Kodak Customer Service is Awful!
I bought this camera 10 months ago. Although it was fairly easy to use and took great shots it keeps breaking down. After contacting someone at Kodak they had me pay for shipping to send it to Precision Camera Repair who decides whether or not it is under warranty. I included that I had to pay for shipping because everything else Ive had to send in for repairs the company paid for the shipping. After mailing the camera it somehow takes weeks for them to get it. Then each time they decide its not under warranty and will cost me in the vicinity of $140.00 for repairs....PLUS Shipping. I will NEVER buy another Kodak product I dont care how good of pictures they take... this product is obviously poorly made and if the company is not willing to back it up...Im surely not going to. By the way, the Fuji I bought several years ago and gave to my kids may not look pretty however it still works.

Surprised at all the positive reviews
I am not a digital camera aficionado, so you may want to read some more reviews, but I based my purchase on several positive reviews here. I wish I had done some more personal testing of other cameras before my purchase. Yes, it takes a good picture, but there are several things not to like about this camera.
1. It uses AA batteries (may be a plus to some people) but if you take a lot of pictures, the batteries will constantly be dying. And if you buy rechargable batteries, the batteries start to die by the 3rd picture.
2. It takes several seconds to resume the ability to shoot after each picture, not good if you have kids sitting in poses.
3. It is gigantic - bigger is definitely not better in this instance. For a professional camera that might be acceptable, but when one half its size is just as good, there is no reason to buy such a monster of a camera.
4. Every time you change the batteries, you need to reprogram the date and time. Again, if you are trying to catch your kids doing something cute, this is sooooo annoying.
5. The "on/off" button malfunctioned after about 2 months and I had to send it in to be fixed. Not such a big deal, but it is worth mentioning.
I'm sure there are other things not to like about it, but I am pretty easy to please and I really really dislike this camera. Hope this helps.

Kodak EasyShare Z712 IS 7.1MP
Al Hansen: Andrea Rosen Gallery.: An article from: Artforum International The Kodak SureShot Z712 IS is the least expensive camera in the "Super Zoom" class. It is a better buy than the competition. This camera requires lithium AA batteries and uses a lot of power. I moved up from the dependable Kodak EasyShare C613. The Z712 is my best camera; I bought it for $139. I need Kodak's color saturation for my work with colorful costumes.

a bit hit and miss, really.
I did a bit of research on this camera before making the decision to buy it. Apparently I just didn't do enough.
At 10mp, the quality is disappointing. I've had cameras that were perhaps 4mp and yet they still took sharper, clearer photos. As much as I play with the settings, and no matter how steady the photo is or how careful I am in paying attention to the lighting, I still find it falling behind my first Kodak from 1998. This is not a good thing, in the least.
It is also very fragile! I had to send in my first one for a broken lens when it slipped out of my hand and hit the table, even though I had the wrist strap on and the fall was perhaps a few inches.
On the bright side, it is extremely easy to navigate, and focuses very well, even if the quality isn't as wonderful as I had been hoping. All in all, it is a fairly good camera for its price, and beats out most other digitals in its price range. However, I think I'll do a bit more review reading the next time I buy a camera -- and probably go crawling back to Nikon for the quality/durability combo I desire.

Yes, It's 10MP, very clear. But, I also experienced the problem of some buzz with the button. And, it seems that I need to learn to deal with the weak light.

third times the charm??
I bought this camera while i was pregnant because i figured i would need a good one for when the baby came. I was really pleased with it and it did take really nice photos. The videos werent the best but i suppose you cant expect perfect videos from a cheap camera. When the baby came i had someone running around the delivery room snapping pictures. Every other picture was blurry. I dont know if it was the operator or just the camera. I did notice that you had to wait a long time and have the perfect light for the camera to take really good pics. After having the camera for about 2 or 3 months i had an accident involving dirty baby clothes a misplaced camera and a washing machine...needles to say the camera didnt make it out alive. I decided to go ahead and buy the same camera agian. I was still pleased with it but a little bummed i couldnt find the 10mp for as cheap so instead i had to settle for the 8.2. Anyways im an avid review reader and i had read a couple that said the camera straight up quit working after 6 months. I decided to ignore them because most of the other comments were totally positive. I had my second camera for about 5 months and it died...on its own...no washing machine involved. It was like the Auto Focus just completely quit working for some reason. (really bad timing too because i was at the hospital with my friend while she was having HER baby when i found out it quit working.) Anyway i liked the camera but cant decide if i want to try it out a third time and risk the chance of getting burned.

Questions & Answers
Question : Best Kodak Digital Camera, or Digital Cameras in general?
I'm planning on buying a digital camera soon and I was just wondering which Kodak Digital Camera is best. Some of my choices include: Kodak Easyshare V1273, Kodak Easyshare V1073, Or the Kodak Easyshare M883.
I was also wondering if Kodak is a good Camera brand & if not, Which camera do you consider is good.
Answer:
Why Kodak? It's not a good brand for "Cameras" believe me.
I'd suggest to go through some reviews before you make your decision. My favorite site for this is: www.dpreview.com (You may need to know the basic elements in digital photography to make a good choice)
Finally, I'd go for Sony, Canon, Olympus, or Panasonic. Those are the really good ones.
Good Luck...

Question : Question about Kodak digital camera and windows movie maker?
I have a Kodak digital "easy share" camera. It records video and i've put a couple video files from my camera directly on my computer. I can view them through Quicktime or on the internet (after uploaded), but windows media player doesnt work for them. They are in ".mov" format, and i dont know why i cant play them on windows. I also want to know why it wont let me upload them onto windows movie maker to edit and make a movie out of them. It says that ".mov" files are uploadable under WMM help, yet every time i try to upload them it says something along the lines of it not being compatable.
Does anybody know why this is? Is there a way i can change it or fix it? I've gone through windows help of all sorts and cant seem to come to a solution.
Serious answers only please.
Thankyou!!!

Question : Can i somehow put filters on my tiny kodak digital camera??
I have a small kodak digital camera, it's just plain digital. It doesn't even have a "mm" sized lense. Just a regular digital camera. is there a way to adapt lenses to it? would they be effective if i had to rig up something? or would the become deffective because of the distance between the lens and the filter?
Answer:
what sort of filters do you want to add to it? in this age of digital photography the only useful filter would be a UV filter for protection, any other effects could be replicated in digital editing. If you do want effects without editing, you could get away with holding up a filter to the lens but, really, why? and yes, the further you hold from the lens, the more distortion you will get. but hey, try it. no harm can come...

Question : I have a Kodak Digital Camera and it got wet, how can I fix it myself?
I have a Kodak Easy Share Z740 Digital Camera that was sent to get repaired but the extendant warranty does not cover water/moisture getting into the camera. My dad is going to kill me when he finds out!! I'm in a hurry,Please help me.
Answer:
If you have to ask you don''t have the technical ability yourself. Look in your phone book and see if there is a local camera repair centre and pay for the repair yourself.
As this camera is a low end one it may not be worth the cost of repairing it. Maybe a replacement is in order.
Have you ever thought of being honest with your father? As a parent I know I would prefer the last option.
Good luck

Question : i recently broke the internal screen of my kodak digital camera. Is it fixable?
the camera was a kodak c513 eashy share camera. the external screen isn't cracked, but the internal screen is. the camera only costs about $85, but it is sold out in most stores.
how much would it cost to fix, if at all fixable?
Answer:
It can be fixed, but it would probably cost $85 to fix, or more. So, you must ask yourself, is this worth fixing? You can easily get a much better camera for $100, or an even better one for $150. Personally, I would just buy a new camera.

Question : Transfering pictures from Kodak digital camera to Dell Desktop?
I recently reformatted my hard drive. Before I would plug my Kodak digital camera in and then a menu would pop up and I could transfer my pictures from my camera to my Dell Dimenson 3000 desktop. I could also do some minor editing like the darkness and cropping. Now when I plug in the camera, nothing happens. Do I need to reinstall a driver or software. I had whatever was standard/came with the computer. What do I need to get it back to the way it was before I reformatted the computer?
I already have the CD that came with camera and tried D/L software from Kodak. Both are the same. I don't like that program, too complicated. I am looking for the program that came with the computer, but not sure what it would be called.
Answer:
If you go to the Kodak website, you can type in the model of the camera that you have and it will give you the option of downloading the updated drivers for your camera as well as the updated "EasyShare" software. No need to look for you CD that came with the camera. You may have to register on the site but it's ad/spy-free anyway and you can opt-out of emails. Hope that helps.
