Nice little camera.
A nice, compact camera that is at a really good price. takes good pictures though there is a tendency toward red eye when subjects are photographed with the flash head on. A good camera for beginners or for having as a back-up camera, which is what I bought it for.

Horrible Camera, extremely disappointed
My first digital camera I bought was a sony cybershot and it was a great camera I loved it, but when it was time to upgrade my sister in law and mother in law both recommended Kodak brand as it was great for getting shots of kids, of which I have 2. After a decent amount of research I decided on the M753, great features and a resonable price. For the first 5 months the picture quality was great you could see the smallest details on every pictures. then just before my 2nd child was born my pictures started coming out blurry.... so now I have gone back to my old sony cybershot, even tho it is old, from 2001, it still takes clearer pictures than this camera. Save your money and buy a different brand.

Great for pre-teen!
After much research my husband and I bought this camera for our 12 year old son for Christmas and it has been great! It is perfect for a kid testing the limits of responsibility and learning to use a digital camera. As with all Kodak Easyshare cameras, there are enough features to give you the pictures you want without wasting a lot time reading the manual.

Kodak Easy Share M753
I purchased this product for my husband for Christmas....It is like the one I already have. It came with everything he needed, except the wrist strap. The seller even e-mailed me that he forgot to include it but I lost the e-mail address. It didn't matter though as I had one on an old camera. One slight problem was my husbands computer did not have a USB port to download his pictures, it is an older one....oh well maybe this will get him to buy a faster newer one!

Customer Review :
Kodak M893 IS (Silver) is A-OK
I purchased a Kodak M893 IS (Silver) about three weeks ago from KodakAuctions.com on eBay for about $70 refurbished at auction. I have previously owned three other Kodak digital cameras. All three still work great with no problems whatsoever. I bought my first one (DC3400 2.1MP 2x zoom with Compact Flash Card memory)) over seven years ago at Walmart on Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving) for $99. There were almost no other digital cameras on the market at that time and definitely nothing over 3MP(It retailed for over $200 at that time.) It is a real dinosaur that weighs a ton and uses 4 AA batteries, but it has never failed to take a perfect picture. I don't use it anymore because of its size and weight and its' little 1.5" LCD and the AA batteries (even though they were Ni-Cad rechargeables - it was a hassle because I had to remove them to recharge them.) My second was a DX6490 (4MP 10x zoom with SD card memory and 2" LCD) that I bought for over $400 at Sam's Club about four years ago. It took (and STILL DOES take) beautiful pictures as long as you allow the autofocus enough time to focus in on whatever you happen to be shooting. It has an electronic viewfinder (which is a little tiny LCD in the viewfinder eyelet). I didn't like this feature at first because the screen would black out for a second while it loaded the picture that you just shot to memory and then it would show you a picture of what you just took for a second after that, meaning that you had at least a two second delay between shots unless you used burst mode. It has no dedicated optical viewfinder, only the electronic one. In fact, that was the reason that I returned this camera within the 30 day return period that Sam's Club offers. I then shopped around and still decided that I liked the DX6490 better than anything else that was available at that time. I went back to Sam's to purchase it again and they were sold out - including the one that I had returned. So I had to wait two more weeks until they received more. I still love this camera and have no regrets about repurchasing it, although you can get a Z712 (7MP 12x zoom) which is very similar to the DX6490 for less than half the money that I paid. The Z712 is is mostly plastic, though, and the DX6490 is all rubber-coated metal(kind of heavy and bulky - but solidly built). It uses a proprietary Li-Ion battery that has exceptional shot life. Plus, it came with the charger dock included. It is so nice to just plop the camera down in its' dock and it automatically charges AND you can use the Easyshare feature to download pictures to your computer at the same time. I don't use the Easyshare feature very much because it sends your pictures to a separate Kodak file. I find that it is just as easy to just pull the SD card out and plug it into the SD slot on my computer which sends pictures immediately to my Windows "My Pictures" file. It is nice to know that I have the option to use the Easyshare whenever I might desire to do so. Then there is my third Kodak - the V550 (5MP 3x zoom with SD Card memory). This is really an exceptional camera. It has a dedicated optical viewfinder (a feature that is very rare nowadays in point and shoot cameras)and a 2.5" LCD screen. It has an all metal body and is also solidly built. The V550 is the best all around camera that I have ever owned. It is compact yet comfortable to hold and takes great pictures all the time. It even shows a little green hand in the corner of the LCD screen after taking a picture to let you know that it was perfectly focused. It will show a yellow hand if the picture could have been better and a red hand if the camera thinks that you should delete the picture. The V550 also came with a charger dock included. The whole package retailed for $379 and I purchased it on the internet through AMAZON.com for $225. My wife really loves this camera, too. We always take it with us on vacation and anywhere that we think we may want to take a few pictures. It uses a KLIC-7001 Li-Ion battery (which is the exact same battery that the M893 uses) and has a very acceptible battery life - although not quite as good as the KLIC-5001 that the DX6490 uses. I must have charged this battery hundreds of times on its' charger dock and it still works great every time. I did buy a spare KLIC-7001 battery on the net just to have for a spare to bring along on trips and such and I have only had to use it twice since I have owned the camera. And now, the purpose of this review: the M893 IS camera.(8MP 3x zoom with SD card). 8 megapixels really seems like overkill. Since my V550 takes excellent pictures at 5MP and I don't plan on printing anything larger than 8"x10" anytime soon, I adjusted the MPs down to 5 MP on this M893 temporarily. This saves a lot of memory space on both the SD card and on my computer. This camera is almost exactly the same size as the V550, although it weighs only about half as much because of the mostly plastic body. The LCD screen is 2.7" and takes up about half of the back of the body. I don't like the fact that it doesn't have a dedicated optical viewfinder, but I guess that this gigantic LCD kinda makes up for that. The main reason that I bought this camera (besides the ridiculously low price) is that it has OPTICAL image stabilization(IS) whereas most of the other Kodak M-Series cameras come with DIGITAL image stabilization, and the fact that it uses the same battery as my V550 so I can swap them if I so desire. It has "Face Recognition" focusing firmware and "Perfect Picture" firmware and the ability to edit the pictures right in the camera before you ever download them. It will also shoot in 16:9 widescreen mode if you choose and it also has a panoramic stitching feature. This is really a nice little camera. It does not come with a charger dock like the V550 or the DX6490, but I can plug their AC chargers (5V DC 2A) directly into the M893 and it charges right up. The only thing that I really don't like about this camera is: when I press the shutter button there is a brief delay (noticeably longer than the V550) before it takes the picture. I suppose this is because of the Facial Recognition focusing and the optical image stabilization. It also seems to take an extraordinarily long time to load the picture that you just took into memory, all the while showing you a picture of what you just shot on the LCD. I have found that I can avoid this delay by pressing lightly on the shutter button and it immediately moves into focus mode for the next shot, bypassing the time it takes to show you the last picture taken. I have read several reviews from people who seem to really dislike Kodak cameras. I personally have had great experiences with all of mine. I have found that digital cameras are not toys and that if you treat them with care and protect them from abuse, they will last a long time and provide many years of great service and memories. I always keep mine in protective cases and never carry them loosely in my pocket or throw them around carelessly. This doesn't mean that there won't be an occasional bad apple or lemon, but overall I feel that Kodak is as good or better than any other camera for the money. I have owned this M893 for almost a month and I am very satisfied with it. I only gave it a four* out of five* rating because it did not come with a charger dock included as did my V550 and my DX6490. I would give each of THEM 5 out of 5 stars. By the way, I do recommend purchasing the M893. Even refurbished cameras from Kodak come with a full one year warranty. Thank you for taking the time to read all the way through this. I know that it was kind of long.

Kodak EasyShare M893IS 8.1MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Silver) Worst camera I've ever owned. I have had 3 Kodak EasyShare cameras before and loved every one of them. I bought this because of that but have regretted that decision ever since. First the lens kept getting stuck either in or out and the camera wouldn't take any photos. I sent it back for service. Got it back with a note that said nothing was wrong with it. Same thing happened when we were on vacation, I got stuck using the throw away cameras. Sent it back again, they said they fixed it but it happened again. The third time they did replace the camera with a "reconditioned" one. It has worked for 3 months but now the lens is starting to stick again.
Along with it not working properly the pictures are just horrible. The action pictures are to dark if you are inside. IF you use the inside setting there is no action setting. Everything is blurry, low light and just plan bad quality.
Don't buy this camera if you have children and want to take quick and fast photos. Focus is extremely bad and very very slow. Image Stablization is a joke.
I think I'm giving up on kodak and going with a Nikon or Canon.

Not very pleased with this article
I bought this camera during last year's black Friday (2007)because I wanted to change my old HP photosmart 735, which seemed to weight like a few pounds. The price on the Kodak was ridiculously low, so I opted to buy that one. I've been very disappointed with the quality of the pictures that this Kodak camera takes. It doesn't matter what setting I use to take pics, the largest amount of megabytes that a picture can get is around 1.5, and this is only if it's a very bright day. Otherwise, most pics it takes will fall in the range of 800-900kilobytes, which does not allow for better quality of the picture. It's very ironic that I could always get pics of at least 2.5mbytes with my old dinosaur (HP). I'm ready to buy a new, decent camera so that I can take pictures worth of uploading on the net to share with friends. I know Kodak has great cameras, but this is NOT one of them.

I EVEN WENT AS FAR AS PURCHASING A (NEW) BATTERY CHARGER AND AFTER CHARGING ALL NITE IT STILL (DIES) OUT AFTER A COUPLE OF PICS..SHOULD'VE KEPT MY KODAK 6.2 WHICH HAD AT LEAST 2.5 OF BATTERY LIFE AFTER BEING CHARGED AND BETTER PIC QUALITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

good looking but horrible image quality

I highly NOT recomment this camera at all.

Returned it in 30 Mins
I ordered this camera from Amazon and it came in no time flat which was great. Unfortunately the camera is going back in less than 1 hour of ownership. I took the camera out of the box and loaded it with an 8 GB SD Card and tried out the video recording capability. Now this camera can record at 720P and it records in Quicktime MOV. I have a Intel Core 2 Duo MacBook and the video was completely out of sync, grainy and washed out. I wonder if mine was defective because the video was NOTHING like I had seen on the online sharing sites.

Should've Returned It Within First Few Days of Purchase
Overall I am not happy with the Kodak V1253 12 megapixel camera. It is very user friendly for changing modes for various settings. I have found that outdoor photos turn out great. The majority of photos taken indoors turn out very dark and blurry. I just can't get any good photos indoors. I would not purchase this product again, nor would I recommend it to a friend!
Rating :
Decent mid-level camera with some great features
Pros: Easy to use-software simple to navigate Plenty of adjustable camera settings for various situations Camera quickly powers on Microphone works well with video mode Steady pictures come out very clear/crisp 3" screen makes it easy to take some quality pictures
Cons: Poor quality low light pics (even with flash on) Does not always sync correctly with Kodak easyshare software Sometimes will not turn on properly-immediately powers down after pressing the on button Certain camera settings produce unclear pics if you don't have the steadiest of hands (or it's windy) Needs to come with an A/C charger
Overall, not a bad purchase. This camera's price and features make it a good competitor to some other brands.

Customer Review :
OK camera, not what I was hoping for.
I found this camera for a price that made it worthwhile to try. And I tried it. I wouldn't say it was disappointing, but definitely not what I wanted. I am very much a point & shoot type of photographer--as you'll see in my limited lingo below. My findings: Pros: Smart capture is a nice feature that automatically determines the best settings for whatever you're trying to take a picture of. (Great for point & shoot types). Button placement is pretty intuitive.
Cons: There is no viewfinder. This is of course a preference thing, but I found it hard for taking pictures in direct sunlight and in night shots (high amount of pixelation and streaking on screen). The USB cord was very flimsy and easily damaged. In many reviews I've read, there are a lot of complaints about the battery life. My only issue about the batteries is that after about 40 shots, the start-up and lag time between shots increased significantly--many missed opportunities. Most of my night shots came out blurry, even though the camera was on a steady surface. Close-up night shots came out highly pixelated. Face capture never worked (although this might be user error).

Questions & Answers
Question : i recently broke the internal screen of my kodak digital camera. Is it fixable?
the camera was a kodak c513 eashy share camera. the external screen isn't cracked, but the internal screen is. the camera only costs about $85, but it is sold out in most stores.
how much would it cost to fix, if at all fixable?
Answer:
It can be fixed, but it would probably cost $85 to fix, or more. So, you must ask yourself, is this worth fixing? You can easily get a much better camera for $100, or an even better one for $150. Personally, I would just buy a new camera.

Question : Question about Kodak digital camera and windows movie maker?
I have a Kodak digital "easy share" camera. It records video and i've put a couple video files from my camera directly on my computer. I can view them through Quicktime or on the internet (after uploaded), but windows media player doesnt work for them. They are in ".mov" format, and i dont know why i cant play them on windows. I also want to know why it wont let me upload them onto windows movie maker to edit and make a movie out of them. It says that ".mov" files are uploadable under WMM help, yet every time i try to upload them it says something along the lines of it not being compatable.
Does anybody know why this is? Is there a way i can change it or fix it? I've gone through windows help of all sorts and cant seem to come to a solution.
Serious answers only please.
Thankyou!!!

Question : I have a Kodak Digital Camera and it got wet, how can I fix it myself?
I have a Kodak Easy Share Z740 Digital Camera that was sent to get repaired but the extendant warranty does not cover water/moisture getting into the camera. My dad is going to kill me when he finds out!! I'm in a hurry,Please help me.
Answer:
If you have to ask you don''t have the technical ability yourself. Look in your phone book and see if there is a local camera repair centre and pay for the repair yourself.
As this camera is a low end one it may not be worth the cost of repairing it. Maybe a replacement is in order.
Have you ever thought of being honest with your father? As a parent I know I would prefer the last option.
Good luck

Question : Transfering pictures from Kodak digital camera to Dell Desktop?
I recently reformatted my hard drive. Before I would plug my Kodak digital camera in and then a menu would pop up and I could transfer my pictures from my camera to my Dell Dimenson 3000 desktop. I could also do some minor editing like the darkness and cropping. Now when I plug in the camera, nothing happens. Do I need to reinstall a driver or software. I had whatever was standard/came with the computer. What do I need to get it back to the way it was before I reformatted the computer?
I already have the CD that came with camera and tried D/L software from Kodak. Both are the same. I don't like that program, too complicated. I am looking for the program that came with the computer, but not sure what it would be called.
Answer:
If you go to the Kodak website, you can type in the model of the camera that you have and it will give you the option of downloading the updated drivers for your camera as well as the updated "EasyShare" software. No need to look for you CD that came with the camera. You may have to register on the site but it's ad/spy-free anyway and you can opt-out of emails. Hope that helps.

Question : Can a Kodak digital camera record footage from a TV?
I want to plug my Kodak camera into my TV so it can record video game footage. Does anyone know if this works? If anyone has done this before please assist me! I appreciate it!

Question : Kodak Digital camera, c653, got dampened in water is it repairable?
I got the kodak c653 digital camera which got dampened, can it be repaired if yes whom do i need to show? i stay at hyderabad, please suggest..
Answer:
Electronics and water don't go well together. If it works after drying out, great. If not, the water probably caused a short circuit which would make it doubtful that it can be repaired. However, I've seen electronics survive water damage, but the battery was ruined. You might get lucky and get by with only having to get a new battery.

Question : How can I get a clearer picture on my Kodak digital camera?
I have a P850 Kodak digital camera and I can't get close up pictures ( of flowers, animals etc..) to be very clear. Any suggestions?
Answer:
well if you have the 24-140 lens than your minimum focusing distance is 2.0 - 20.4 inches in macro focusing range according the datasheet online i found for this camera.
if you are staying within those limits and have the lens or camera set to macro it should be in focus. if not try using a tripod to keep the camera steady alot of times its you moving and you don't realize it. if not staying within 2.0-20.4 inches of your subject and you need to get further or closer try close up filters wich any decent camera store should sell and carry. or try buying a macro lens which only does macro. lmk if these solutions don't help- i love helping solve camera problems like this.
