Question : How to import photo's from HP E427 camera to iPhoto on Mac?
Right, here's the problem,
I have a Hewlett Packard E427 digital camera. I have no Hewlett Packard software. I'm trying to import photo's from the camera to iPhoto on my macbook.
When I connect the camera to the macbook using USB, iPhoto opens automatically but doesn't give me an (obvious) option to import the photo's.
According to Hewlett Packard, you do not have to use their software to import photo's.
What am I doing wrong? It's driving me crazy!
Thanks.
Answer:
Here a few problems I see:
1) Do you have the lastest update of iPhoto
2) Go do the side of your iPhoto and look for HPE427
3) If that doesnt show up, try it out on a friends Mac or Windows
4) If all fails get a SD card reader, their like $20 so it snot that big of a deal.

Question : Hewlett Packard Photosmart Mz67 is it a good camera??
i'm looking for a camera to take quality pictures and motion pictures such as horses jumping. is it s good camera to bring amazing quality? if not what is? i was thinking of the Canon PowerShot SX100. how do i turn off the digital zoom on both of the cameras? because i have both camera at my hands to buy. all i want to know is which one has the better picture quaility and best quaility of motion pictures such as horses jumping. i think the Canon PowerShot SX100 sucks at flash pictures, but i can always return it for another one if i don't like it :) so how do i turn the digital zoom off and which one's better
Answer:
SX100 IS is better because it has Av, Tv and M mode. Tv mode will be useful for sport photography. All point and shoot digital cameras have some shutter lag. When you try to shoot the horse jumping, pre-focus (half press the shutter button) on something which the horse is going to jump over first. Press the shutter button all the way when you the horse jumps. You may need to practice a couple of times to get the right timing.

Question : I want to get a digital camera for my girlfriend (under $250). Which one do you think? Your ideas?
She is artistic in many other ways but has never had a camera to get into photography. When she does take pictures (usually with her cell phone or disposable cameras) they come out BEAUTIFULLY. Neither of us knows much about cameras and while I don't really care to learn, she is so worried about picking the wrong one that she hasn't gotten anything.
I know, from things she has mentioned that she wants:
-Under $250
-Flash & 6+ MPixels
-She likes taking pix of things VERY close up (flowers, birds) AND/OR of city skylines/lights at night
-good zoom is VERY important to her
I have looked at the ones below but am not set on anything yet:
*Kodak EasyShare C875, 8 M.pix, 5x Opt./5x Dig. Zoom (our printer SUCKS so I was thinking prints would be easier, but she can always go to walgreens for prints)
*Hewlett-Packard Photosmart M627, 7 M.pix., 3x Op./8x Dig. Zoom
The more I look and compare, the more they all look EXACTLY THE SAME - so I don't want to look anymore.
IDEAS?
Another thing about what Im looking for is that it doesn't have to have video---she may use it if it was there but I don't think she would ever even notice if it wasn't
Answer:
I suggest viewing these two websites for some useful information...
NOTE: I have the HP M417 and it works very well and takes
some excellent pictures, so the 627 should be even better.

Shoot mini movies in full-motion video with audio. Be ready to capture baby's first steps, the graduate's moment on the stage, and more…in sound and motion! This camera captures film clips with up to 24 fps (frames per second).
HP Image Zone software lets you sort and edit your photos on-camera. Crop and resize your photos, then file them by date or keyword so you can easily retrieve them later. You can even create your own greeting cards and photo albums! Plus, Image Zone can restore a picture you accidentally deleted or inadvertently edited.
Print directly via the included PictBridge™ cable or via SD/MMC cards. Both the E317 camera and the 7850 printer are PictBridge-enabled, so all you have to do is connect them with the included cable…and print! Store pictures in the built-in 16MB memory, or use Secure Digital™ or MultiMediaCard™ media (sold separately) to transfer picture files from your camera to your printer.
Backed by HP's 1-year warranty*.
Answer:
I guess it depends on what you plan to do with the camera and what kind of pictures you want to take. HP makes pretty decent printers and if you can get a sample shot printed from it prior to purchase depending on your satisfaction with the quality of the print that should be your main decision maker on that scale. Also be aware that if you're going to be say, printing a book a photo printer isn't the best choice because the quality is definitely inferior on that level.
As for HP cameras I've never had any personal luck with them. As the previous poster stated HP camera's are 'ok' but for true quality I'd look at another brand. I'm a very big fan of Canons, but Nikons are also solid pieces of machinery, along with the sonys, in terms of reliable picture quality and satisfaction.

Answer:
For the same price you should be able to find a Canon or Olympus, either of which would probably be better, I am a photo lab manager, and have not been impressed with HP cameras.

Wich one is better? Please no mean comments. We are just wondering.
Except mine is a navy color but that doesn't mater
Answer:
Your camera has better specs, because it has optical image stabilization.
However, the specs are so close that any differences are more likely due to the photographer and not the camera.
If I were to pick one for myself, I'd take yours. :-)
