| Editorial Review :
The FinePix F10 Zoom is characterized by incredibly clean images, due to its refined Super CCD sensor and 'Real Photo Processor'. These two components are the outcome of thousands of hours of research by Fujifilm's imaging technicians, and reflect the company's desire to set, rather than chase, image quality benchmarks. The newly designed 6.3 megapixel Super CCD sensor features Fujifilm's trademark octagonal photodiodes, which act as more efficient light receptors than traditional CCD structures. The new Real Photo Processor provides an unprecedented sensitivity range from ISO 80 to ISO 1600, all achievable at full resolution. This means that immaculately pure images are captured, even in low light situations, such as social events, whilst minimizing camera shake and subject movement. Furthermore, the Real Photo Processor enables users to photograph without flash, thereby ensuring more natural-looking results, and extending the already considerable battery life. The camera's ability is further underlined by some impressive speed statistics. Improving on the quickfire FinePix F810 Zoom, the F10 Zoom doubles the screen refresh rate to an amazing 60 frames per second, whilst still having time to achieve continual autofocus. And with a shutter time lag of just 0.01 seconds, 1.1 seconds between frames for consecutive shots and just 1.3 seconds needed for start-up, this is a camera with truly rapid reactions. The FinePix F10 Zoom accommodates a generous 2.5-inch high definition LCD monitor, which features an automatic brightness adjustment function, allowing users to amend the brightness of the monitor for enhanced visibility in low light. This feature can also be adjusted manually, while a quick view window allows the user to check three previous shots on the LCD screen in addition to the live image.
Customer Review :
Very satisfied with it
First off, I am an ordinary point-and-shoot gal with just a little tech knowledge to know enough how to play with digicams. I am not a photography expert. So this review is more for users like me.
My first digital camera was a Finepix 1 MP when it was freshly out of the market (bought it at $400 then in HongKong). It took sharp beautiful pictures and had very fast shutter speed (an important feature I came to appreciate when my husband had a 4MP Kodak, which could not capture the moment when you take pictures during family gatherings because of its super slow shutter speed which I presumed to be secondary to its higher MP). Because of that, he gave me a 6MP Finepix F10 as a gift (my 1 MP then had been giving me beatufiul pics for 5 years, through abuse of having been dropped at least 2 times from a height of 4 feet or 2 ft unprotected bya camera case, subjected to showers of some water or flour since I do foodblogging). One thing I can say, Finepix really lasts.
Now with F10, I am taking better photos with higher resolution as well. Very good in low light, especially when I want to take macro photos of my food. Ordinary photos of family and friends are very good. Pictures of family during night inside the house has become sharper compared to old Finepix (so it's an improvement). Sometimes I have enough light from the house lights that I even have to suppress the flash and F10 will automatically adjust and give me better, sharper photos. Its image-stabilization feature and still fast shutter speed are things to emphasize. Oh, and battery power really lasts, that my xD card's capacity is the limiting factor instead.
After owning the Finepix F10 and learning to use the additional features and adjusting to the different menu, my husband's Kodak 4MP suddenly went dead, no nothing... (after using it for about 2 years) and we suspected one of the kids probably dropped it (we had no proof). So on our anniversary I gave him a 12 MP Kodak (because that's what he was used to) though we had quite a wait for Kodak to come up with high MP that uses Li-Ion battery. Kodak seem to have improved on its shutter speed and still takes good quality photos. I cannot say much in comparison between the two because I do not want to bother learning how to use a different menu. I brought this up because I want to compare sturdiness. After 10 months of owning this new Kodak, it suddenly gave us pics with white horizontal lines, worse for outdoors photos, without having been subjected to dropping or water sprays (my husband made sure he took good care of this one, not allowing any of the kids use it). Good thing we kept the receipt. It just went to the manufacturer yesterday for repair. Hope they won't charge us anything.
My F10 is still going...still subjected to flour, oily/sticky hands, dust, sprinkles...
Oh, and I love the size...enough for me to handle it. I never liked too little cameras because they are hard to handle. The casing also appears expensive, not plastic. Not sure what it is made of. And yes, it is made in Japan...Love it!
Why I am giving it 4 stars??? Because I have not spent enough time with it to truly learn how to use other features/settings which I rarely use. But for my most-often used settings, I give it 5 stars.

One of the greatest Camera!
I adore this camera. I now also have the F31fd which is also great. You can't go wrong with Fuji.

Over 3 and still kickin!
Figured I should finally review this product. After having it for 3 years, I can definitely say this is the best digital camara I've ever owned. I've had quite a few different brands of camera run through my family & friends and this one always comes out on top as most convenient AND highest quality.
It was my first personal camera as well, and I think I'll be sticking with the Fuji brand for a long time. 3 years after getting it, it still has great battery life- I only have to charge it twice a month (tops) and I use this thing ALL the time. Like almost every day. Cam to computer is easy as pie- no software needed. Great quality photos- I'm an art student, so I use this camera for all sorts of things; personal photos of friends, artistic photography, reference photos, and for taking high quality photos of my work. It's never failed me!
I have to say, everyone who encounters me using thing is instantly jealous and starts asking about it. Same with photos I post online. People with their own cameras (including my sister, who has two professional cameras of her own) always just end up asking to borrow mine because it's just so darn easy to use and takes great pics! Point-n-shoot, baby. Fast as lightning~ (Yeah that like second start-up time? Awesoooome!)
Letting go of this cam will be hard, but I intend to keep it as LONG as it lives! And it's been through its fair share of bumps & dents, hehe. But when I do eventually run this thing into the ground, I plan on buying the most similar cam Fuji has to offer! ;)

Used Finepix review.
I am enjoying the camera with no problems. Would have been nice to have had access to long term "insurance" just as a precaution.

Good Buy For Buck
This camera, though less-pricy than some of its competitors, outshines the competition. It might not be the best buy for you if you want incredibly professional quality photos, but for the more casual/ informal photographers, this camera rocks!! You have your choice of various scene settings, and the picture quality is usually good (even if on the higher ISO settings). The camera also has other nifty features that prevent blurry photos and unfocused shots. My only problem with this camera is that the capture button is sometimes hard to maneuver, and a little resistant at times. Overall, however, this camera is a good buy for your buck!!

| Editorial Review :
The FinePix Z1 Zoom showcases a variety of Fujifilm's inventive construction techniques that help the camera achieve its sleek, seamless casing and miniature dimensions. The zoom lens has a special refractive, non-extending design that delivers 3x optical reach without any visible movement on the Z1 Zoom's flat exterior. The pocket-sized FinePix Z1 Zoom houses a fifth generation version of Fujifilm's Super CCD HR sensor, delivering superb images even in low light conditions, making it the ideal pocket companion for concerts or nights out. Its five megapixel processing power and low noise ISO 64-800 sensitivity range also means that large reprints can be developed without loss of image clarity or detail. With its ergonomic, single-shell casing available in several colors, the FinePix Z1 Zoom promises to appeal to those with an eye for beautiful design. Simply slide back the front panel, and the camera is powered up and ready for action in a super-fast 0.6 seconds.Despite its diminutive build, the FinePix Z1 Zoom sports a huge 2.5 inch LCD screen that is the largest in the Fujifilm range, making it ideal for viewing and editing images while out and about. Importantly for this type of 'take-everywhere' camera, the glass screen is also specially toughened, which makes it more than a match for the harsh environment of the pocket or handbag.Remarkably for a camera of these dimensions, the FinePix Z1 Zoom also includes a TV-quality movie function, capable of capturing 30 frames per second, VGA video with sound. Furthermore, the large LCD screen makes it easy to view movies and share the action without needing to use a TV screen.
Customer Review :
Great Camera, Bad Company
Here's the Good News: I have had many cameras in my life, digital and film , and I have found the Z1 to be my favorite. The camera is very user friendly and the pictures are sharp with great color. My previous camera was a Minolta Dimage 7($800) and I found that this camera's photo quality was just as good. The best feature of the camera is the fact that it is sturdy and compact enough to carry with you daily. Owning this camera made taking pictures a daily part of my life.
Here's the Bad News: Recently my camera broke and when I tried to contact Fuji to get a replacement or a repair, the service was terrible. Their website is very difficult to navigate and offers very little support.
Summary: Great camera as long as it doesn't break. It's easier to pay someone to fix it than actually get Fuji to repair it.
Rating :
Exactly what it's suppose to be.
This camera is exactly what it's suppose to be: convenient, reliable, compact, user friendly and above all else, it takes good pictures. If you want a camera that takes great pictures, you'll need to buy something a little more expensive, and quite a bit larger. I bought and returned several cameras in this class before realizing that no camera this size, and in the sub $200 price range will perform the way my SLR does. That said, if you don't mind playing with the Exposure compensation and ISO settings, you can take some pretty great pictures even in low light.
I learned a long time ago that the worst camera is the one you don't have with you when a great shot presents itself. With the Z1 you'll never have that excuse. Even in a case it fits nicely in my front pocket without protruding too noticably.
The only issues I have are that it doesn't have a continuous shutter mode, and the dock is required for charging and downloading images. That said, I'm still giving it 5 stars because as I said, it's exactly what it's suppose to be.

perfect point and shoot camera
I would classify myself as a good critic of digital cameras. I've had this camera for over 2 years and i love it. It takes good quality pictures. There are some downsides to it though. It doesn't take quality pictures at night if your a certain distance away and sometimes it takes blurry pictures in darker places as well. The sound doesn't work on my camera but its probably becuase I have dropped it a couple times and thats never good for any camera. The battery life is okay but my friends have other cameras and their batteries usually last twice as long as mine does. I recommend getting a back up.

Terrible Customer Service!!!
The camera is fine as long as nothing goes wrong. Fuji has the worst customer service I have ever delt with. They pass you from one person to another and do everything they can not to help you. Be prepared to deal with the worst customer service in the business. I really hope this helps you.

Pretty Camera, but HORRIBLE Photo Quality!!!
I bought this camera thinking it would be the perfect little thing to carry around.... boy oh boy was I wrong. Now unless it was a manufaturer's defect, this camera was a little piece of junk! Complicated with horrible grainy, blurry photos. I would not recommend this camera to anyone looking for a decent yet simple point and shoot camera!

Great little camera.
I am by no means a photographer. I use my camera for primarly one reason: to take pictures of my kids. This camera is great. It's user-friendly and the software that comes with it is as well. Everything is easy with this camera - not to mention I love the color!

Great pictures from an easy to carry camera
The photos I've taken with this camera are outstanding - crystal clear. And I'm NOT that great a photographer. I keep the camera in an inside pocket of my purse - it takes up virtually no room. My only complaint would be that I forget how certain things work between uses - it could be more menu-user friendly. overall - i'm thrilled with this camera.

Super Compact, good image quality, some limitations involved..
The Finepix Z5 is an excellent super-compact point-and-shoot digital, with, of course, some serious limitations. I got it mostly because I wanted an inconspicuous (no extending lens-also equals more longevity) candid camera I could carry in my pocket. It works well for that, although sometimes the cover slides open in my pocket..no matter, go into the Setup and make sure it shuts itself OFF after 2 minutes! The image quality is very good for such a small sensor, even up to ISO 800, and there's also an ISO 1600 under the F button, but that's pretty much "emergency use only". There aren't a lot of manual settings for this little camera either, but if you meter around the highlights and use a -1/3 to -2/3 exposure compensation setting you can do well in most lighting situations. There's also the nice Fujifilm "Natural and Flash" setting that let's you see flash and non-flash photos side by side, and the Chrome setting for more vivid colors. The flash has limited range, but does OK within that range-I don't use flash unless I have to anyway. I do miss having an optical viewfinder, as some of the ultracompact Sonys have, but I wasn't willing to pay twice as much for a Sony. All in all, this is a good and super-portable little camera.

WOW! Great Camera, Still Holds Up 4+ Years On
It might seem a little odd to write a review now (October 2008) on a camera I bought over 4 years ago (March 2004), but I am just so impressed with the Fuji S5000's performance over the years. We have used this camera almost daily in our business (to take product photos) and for personal use, including trips around the US, Europe, and South America.
This camera had many advanced features for when it was made that still hold up today:
* Sharp 3.1 MP Image (prints up to 8 x 10) * Great 10x Zoom Lens (really sharp pictures) * Movie and Sound Capture * Great Battery Life
Sure, you can get higher end cameras now but I wouldn't hesitate to get one of these used for a backup or "beater" camera for the kids.
Simply a great, reliable camera that has held up well over time.

Excellent Camera
I have had this camera for 3 years now, it replaced a Kodak digital that broke. I have been pleased from the first day it arrived. It had been through a lot (Key west, Disney, DC, NY etc) of vacations. It has been abused, bumped, dropped, gotten wet, kids sticky fingers and it still works great. If you are looking for a great deal for a DSLR style camera, this is it, look no further, because this camera is IT. This camera can also provide you with a great learning experience, no only will it tell you when the shutter speed is too fast, but it can even tell you if the aperture is not enough to take a excellent photo, and with 3.1 effective megapixels, your photos will print out better than Kodak prints. ... I now have the Nikon D80 and this has now been promoted to teaching tool for the kids to learn photography. I would recommend this camera to anyone wanting a quality camera at a reasonable price.
I also recommend getting a 1GB xd card.

Good camera have used it for 3 years
This is a very good camera, unfortunately Fuji has stopped production of this model... it is very good for starters to learn about photography and slowly move towards a DSLR mode i guess...i have used this camera for last three years and now i have a broken battery lid.. which is due to th eplastic body.. i feel this is the only drawback this camera has other wise this is really a good handy camera....

programmed to fail
The Fuji S5000 has a memory chip in it which retains the day/date/time information, but after 12 months to 2 years this chip losses its capacity to hold a charge therefore losing the date/time. Fuji wants $250 to replace the chip! My camera failed a few weeks out of warranty. Each time I change batteries, I have to reset date and time. What a pain in the neck!

4+ Years, 4+ Countries - Going Strong
I've had the Fuji S5000 for four years now and love it. In fact, over the summer I purchased the new Olympus 18x optical zoom and took it back as other than the greater zoom I didn't like it as much as my S5000. When I purchased it it was just under $300 and the best bang for buck in my opinion. There were other cameras with more megapixels or other features, but I wanted that balance between quality and price and I got it. This is a sturdy camera that I've taken all over the world traveling with me as well as every backpacking trip, canoe trip, snowball fight, etc. Just over the weekend it got buried in the snow - I brushed it off and kept snapping.
I have to admit, I am starting to look at new cameras because I'd like more megapixels, but all the cameras have to compare to the S5000 as sturdy, quick, and great pictures.
This is a good camera that will take nice wildlife photos (not WONDERFUL - that's where the bang for buck comes in - it's still for the hobbyist) - I've got moose, bald eagles, deer and lots of fun ones of the new puppy.
I give this camera 5 stars because you're getting what you pay for - a sturdy camera with adequate megapixels and a nice 10x optical zoom lens.

Questions & Answers
Question : Can I fix my Fuji Finepix digital camera?
I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to fix a zoom problem with my Fuji Finepix A345. I've never even dropped it or gotten it wet but for some reason there is a problem with the lense. Often when I turn it on the lense won't come out all the way like it is stuck and makes noises. Then sometimes when it does come out it is blurry and when I try zooming it or focusing it it won't work.
Answer:
I'm sure you didn't do anything to it, but unfortunately, I doubt there is anything you can do to it to make it NOT have the error with the lens. It sounds like your lens will need to be replaced.....but there is always a possibility it may be jammed. However, in the camera repair shop I work in, this kind of problem is almost ALWAYS because the lens needs to be replaced. If it's still under warranty and you haven't dropped it or anything like that, I would send it in to Fuji directly. If it's out of the warranty, you'd be better off replacing it since repairs are around the cost of this camera when it was new. Hope that helps.

Question : zoom error on fuji digital camera, how much would it cost to fix it?
It is a fuji finepix f650. Would it be worth sending the camera to the factory to fix or buy a new one? I've only had the camera for 7 months but I did not keep the receipt and the box.
Answer:
If it's a zoom error that requires you to replace the lens on the camera, the parts and labor could run as high as the $200-250 range, but the only way to figure out exactly how much it would cost would be contact Fuji. Try calling their factory service center; they'll be able to tell you if it's something that's under warranty or if you'll have to pay for the repairs yourself, and should be able to give you a ballpark figure for the cost to you.

Question : fuji digital camera reverts back to japanese?
Fuji F10 camera purchased in Japan, has started corrupting files making precious photos unreadable on a computer but they can be viewed on the camera. Re-formatting the XD memory card is the only answer to making it usable again. Another issue is that the camera settings revert back to original Japanese and the date resets back to 2005 at random. Fuji tech support did not recognise the fault and their only recomendation was to return camera for service but this investigation would cost more than a new camera. Anyone else experienced similar problems?
the camera is not designed exclusively for the Japanese market. It is identical to the F10 available in Britain.
Answer:
FUJI cameras often have Firmware Updates, which you should try prior to return it to FUJI for servicing!
Here's the link for your model.
Help that solves your problems ;-)

Question : Where can I find a case for the Fuji S700 digital camera?
I don't want anything like a camcorder case, if you know what I mean. I only want a case for the camera, no extra storage or something fancy like that...
Answer:
Well, at this point, Fuji doesn't make a camera only case for the S700, so it's unlikely you'll find one. The best you might be able to do is use an existing case for another camera that fit's it closely enough.
Alternatively other companies do offer holster bags made to fit just the camera and at most an additional flat pocket for memory cards, lens cleaning cloth, etc. I'd look at bags from Lowe Pro or Tamrac.
HTH.

Question : Fuji digital camera is very cheap. Do I have any reasons not to buy it?
I just compared it with other brand with the same spec. Fuji is about 40-50% cheaper than other popular brands. Is it worse than others?
Answer:
They actualyl pretty good, Fujifilm camera to digital kinda late compare to other, but fujifilm was like the king in film camera. Fujifilm Digital camera has some of the very best camera sensor and great design. However it lack some friendly mode scene as other offer, but fuji does take very nice picture.

Question : what kind of cord do i need for downloading pictures from a Fuji A500 digital camera to my computer.?
i have looked on line and called future shop - who say there are too many different types of cords to carry them.
Answer:
If you look off to the right of this page, it says "What's in the box." There is lists a USB Cable (mini-B).
http://www.fujifilmusa.com/JSP/fuji/epartners/digitalA500Specs.jsp?dbid=842411&item=I842411&subitem= SIDataSpecSheets842411&urltype=dataspec&NavBarId=SIDataSpecSheets842411
It looks like you'll have to call them up to order one.
ON SECOND THOUGHT:
I typed in USB (mini-B) at Yahoo Shopping and got tons of hits. It appears Mini B is an industry standard and not just a Fuji product. You can most probably buy any of those cords. Fuji is sort of high priced for their accessories.

Question : Is Fuji a decent brand of digital camera? ?
I' m interested in purchasing a new digital camera..Fuji seems to offer more bang for the buck! ( higher mp and optical zoom) Does anyone have personal experience with the fuji brand. Yeah Fuji makes good cameras. I have one.
Basically, Fuji, Canon, Nikon, Sony, Panasonic - they all make good cameras.

Question : Anyone know of a great Olympus or Fuji point-and-shoot digital camera?
I'm looking for details here... I have lots of xD memory and my camera has gone belly up... anyone have feedback on current Olympus or Fuji digital cameras?
Answer:
Between those two brands...sorry, but Olympus is a brand I would never consider (due to it's so-so photo quality).
The Fujifilm Finepix F30, however, is a compact point & shoot camera that performs extremely well in low light (high ISO, handheld, no flash). No other compact can compete with it in this area. I would buy it for that capability alone.
So, if you want a compact camera particularly for low light situations, then it's the one to get. It also has great battery life of up to 580 shots.
The newer, F31 fd, is a minor update but hasn't been reviewed as yet.
But, if you ever decide to invest in SD memory, then have a look at Canon ;-)
