Great Price.....Terrible Pictures!!!

I bought this camera for my wife for Christmas to replace a larger Olympus Camedia 3.4 mp. I was extremely disappointed with the picture quality. I tried all different modes and the pictures come out very grainy and fuzzy. I am returning it to Amazon for a refund. DO NOT BUY THIS CAMERA!!

Finepix F480

This camera is exactly what I expected for the price. Fuji has a very dependable quality, and although this is less expensive than most other cameras, the features, and performance is great.

The camera that could

It takes good day pictures; the wide angle is great.
But the night pictures are very gray. Especially after i compared the pictures taken by other cameras at the same time and place, this camera takes very gray pictures. I'm guessing it's because of the flash.

And i'm pretty sure it's not just my camera - i had it replaced by fuji (i dropped it and the warranty covered it), and the new camera had the same problem.

Don't Fall For The Cheap Price

I bought this camera during 2007 Thanks Giving. For the features available for this camera I got it for a real good price, well that is what I thought until I took the pictures on a bright sunlight day.The pics came very dark and from then on never dared to try taking any more pictures.
Please stay away from buying this camera.

Fujifilm F480 Digital Camera

Camera was everything I expected it to be. It was even a little smaller than I expected. It takes great pictures, especially wide angle shots which is why I got it. It will zoom for normal and closer shots. The flash is very adequate in low light situations. The only thing it doesn't have that I would like is a hot shoe or cradle ability to charge the battery. It requires thinking ahead to make sure that the battery has been taken out and charged. The only way around this would be to buy two batteries and have one constantly charged, but a hot shoe to leave the camera in would solve that problem. But overall, a great camera, especially for the beginner.

True point-n-shoot

Spent 8 days in the Idaho interior on a ATV trip, shot hundreds of pictures, not one bummer!!!! This camera is a true point-n-shoot model with enough extras to make any camera buff happy. Was really happy with the camera. I tried almost all settings from landscapes to macros, you just can't take a bad picture. If I could rate this camera higher I would give it 10 stars!

Great thing

This camera is very good. I've got a year old son so I decided to buy this camera so I can finally start taking pictures of him. Not only I enjoy taking pictures but also I love to record him which is so easy with this thing because it's small and since I use the 4GB memory card I can tape one hour without changing the card or the batteries. Really great camera!!!!

Cracking little Camera

I got this Camera for my birthday and its superb. The improvement in picture quality and facilities since I bought my only previous digital Camera five years ago has to be seen to be believed.

This is smaller than my previous Camera has more facilities, and requires half the number of batteries. The basic settings are:
Auto
Movie
Landscape
Portrait
Digital Zoom
Red Eye Reduction
Picture Stabilization
Baby Mode

To be honest Auto and Movie are the only two I've used. The movie facility (with sound) is unlimited within the limitations of the memory card. The 1GB card provided will give you almost 1/2 an hour of video. The picture quality is very good and its easy to link to your PC. With the benefit of photo software even the most average picture can be cropped to look good.

Another excellent feature of this Camera is the large viewing screen (54mm x 40mm).

A great little Camera that does everything I need.

Not a happy photographer

I was given this as a Birthday present in Oct of 97. Within three months I was not thrilled with it. When I went to take photos of my son's Christmas pageant, the camera refused to focus and would only take blurry photos. Then I took it with me for my niece's graduation..once again it would not focus correctly. Finally I gave up and went and got a Kodak Easy Share and I like that one MUCH better and I have yet to have one blurry photo!!!

Customer Review :

Wow! I am amazed at the picture quality.

We purchased three of these cameras for our children (well young adults) all in different colors. The first thing to grab my attention was the ease of use the second was the quality of the picture this camera was producing. My Husband and I purchased a Sanyo several months prior to buying these and we were happy with it until we saw the quality of the pictures of this camera. One of the features I like the best is the slide on the front turns the camera on and off, in addition to that it protects the lens. Now if they could design a camera to protect both the LCD and the Lens that would be perfect. I really like this camera.

The FinePix A345 is a great combination of style, ease of use and great quality. Featuring 4 mega pixels, 3X Optical Zoom and one touch operation, this camera is ideal for anyone taking their first steps into digital photography.

Customer Review :

I LOVE this camera!!

I've had my A345 about 4 years, and I couldn't be happier. I bought a bigger card, and I use rechargeable batteries to deal with the quick use of them. That's it! I've never chosen to use all the advanced features that remind me of my old 35mm, but I like that I could if I chose. I also find the size to be just right. It has worked effortlessly with both XP and Vista over the years.

Not so good

I have had this camera for a year now and am more unimpressed every time I use it. It is hard to take pictures that are not blurred. Even though it is a 4.1 MP camera, most online photo developing websites flag the pictures for low quality, meaning that anything over 4x6's are discouraged. It is an easy camera to use and takes the picture in the viewfinder with a minimum of delay, but it is a low quality and probably blurred image. There are better cameras out there for the price!

great pix, if the damn thing worked..

i recieved this camera as a xmas present some years back. it was a bit pricey for the quality @ $250 bucks. and although the pics usually come out pretty nice, the battery issue is infuriating! the camera will turn on for a mili-second and as you press the shutter, it turns off. i have bought all different types of batteries, and none will work with it. it will SOMETIMES take ONE or maybe up to FIVE pictures, before turning itself off. it will also turn off sometimes if you use the zoom. so, basically it actually WORKS about 15% of the time, and i've missed so many pictures over the years!

Batteries get eaten up!!

I,too, bought this as my first digital. I am happy with the quality of the pics, however, the battery issue just pushed me over the edge. After many, many missed opportunities with our first new granddaughter, my children have bought me a new Canon for Christmas. The fugi was sent back in the hopes that it could be 'diagnosed'. They just indicated "power" was the problem. I bought two new battery chargers and new batteries to no avail. In reading other reviews, I have noticed that the SD cards drains the battery, and perhaps we could use the xDtype H? Not sure...Fugi is willing to supply me w/a reconditioned A500 for $60. Not sure if I'll take it or not.....Just my thoughts...

Buzzing sound.. tempermental

I've had my fuji finepix for about 3 years. After the second year I dropped it from well not that far, ever since it makes a buzzing sound and chooses to work when it wants too. Half the time the lcd screen is dark indoors and sometimes the zoom does not work. I always blamed dropping it for it's issues, but apparently everyone else has had the same problem. I will be replacing it this year with a panasonic.

Question : I just purchased a Fuji digital camera F40FD. I was wondering if this is a good camera?
I just purchased a Fuji digital camera F40fd. I take pictures in low light and I understand that the Fuji cameras are good for low light photography. I noticed that the camera got warm after taking a couple of pictures also when the lense goes in and out of the camera it grinds a bit especially between the review mode and setting it back to picture mode. I was looking for a F31fd camera or a F45fd camera but could not find one anywhere. So I am wondering if I made the right choice buying the F40fd? I have a couple of days to make up my mind and then I can either exchange the camera or keep the camera. I do not know what to do.I already own a Fuji camera a A820 and the pictures are fairly decent on that camera. I just wanted to bascially up grade that camera because I wanted a smaller more compact camera that worked well in low light. Did I make the right choice?

Answer:
This is a discontinued model. I would recommend a Canon camera over Fuji. Depending on how much you spent on the camera, another choice would be the Canon SD1100 IS. The PowerShot SD1100 IS Digital ELPH features ISO 1600 and High ISO Auto settings that reduce the effects of camera shake and sharpen subjects in low-light situations, giving you greater shooting flexibility. It's small and compact, and the Elph series has been known for it's superior quality for years.

Question : zoom error on fuji digital camera, how much would it cost to fix it?
It is a fuji finepix f650. Would it be worth sending the camera to the factory to fix or buy a new one? I've only had the camera for 7 months but I did not keep the receipt and the box.

Answer:
If it's a zoom error that requires you to replace the lens on the camera, the parts and labor could run as high as the $200-250 range, but the only way to figure out exactly how much it would cost would be contact Fuji. Try calling their factory service center; they'll be able to tell you if it's something that's under warranty or if you'll have to pay for the repairs yourself, and should be able to give you a ballpark figure for the cost to you. http://www.fujifilmusa.com/JSP/fuji/epartners/ServiceSupportRepairContent.jsp?dbid=674543

Question : Fuji Digital Camera Not Working and can't afford to fix it?
Something happened to my Fuji A400 FinePix camera where the lens wont retract and it says "Focus Error" - a shop wants $150 to repair, almost as much as the camera is worth. I cant afford to fix it or buy a new one. I've lost my receipt to service it under warranty and it cant be located via Best Buy. Can a Focus Error be fixed? Any advice?

Answer:
I would contact Fuji service. They should fix it for free, or very cheaply. If you provide the serial number, they will know if it's under warranty probably. You can buy good new cameras for under $150 so repairing an old camera is probably a bad choice. A possibility is to see if Fuji has an updated BIOS for the camera. If so, download and install it, that might fix the problem.

Question : How do I format an xd picture disk for fuji digital camera?
How do I format an xd picture disk for fuji digital camera?

Answer:
-Put the XD card in the camera. -Turn the camera on. -Open the menu -Slect format card.

Question : fuji digital camera reverts back to japanese?
Fuji F10 camera purchased in Japan, has started corrupting files making precious photos unreadable on a computer but they can be viewed on the camera. Re-formatting the XD memory card is the only answer to making it usable again. Another issue is that the camera settings revert back to original Japanese and the date resets back to 2005 at random. Fuji tech support did not recognise the fault and their only recomendation was to return camera for service but this investigation would cost more than a new camera. Anyone else experienced similar problems? the camera is not designed exclusively for the Japanese market. It is identical to the F10 available in Britain.

Answer:
FUJI cameras often have Firmware Updates, which you should try prior to return it to FUJI for servicing! Here's the link for your model. Help that solves your problems ;-)

Question : what kind of cord do i need for downloading pictures from a Fuji A500 digital camera to my computer.?
i have looked on line and called future shop - who say there are too many different types of cords to carry them.

Answer:
If you look off to the right of this page, it says "What's in the box." There is lists a USB Cable (mini-B). http://www.fujifilmusa.com/JSP/fuji/epartners/digitalA500Specs.jsp?dbid=842411&item=I842411&subitem= SIDataSpecSheets842411&urltype=dataspec&NavBarId=SIDataSpecSheets842411 It looks like you'll have to call them up to order one. ON SECOND THOUGHT: I typed in USB (mini-B) at Yahoo Shopping and got tons of hits. It appears Mini B is an industry standard and not just a Fuji product. You can most probably buy any of those cords. Fuji is sort of high priced for their accessories. http://shopping.yahoo.com/search;_ylc=X3oDMTEwNTByOW5sBF9TAzI3MTYxNDkEc2VjA2ZwLXRhYgRzbGsDc3Bpcml0?p =USB+%28mini-B%29&fr=yfp-t-501&toggle=1&cop=mss&ei=UTF-8
