The Fuji Film FinePix S1000fd's 12x optical zoom lens expands your shooting reach, covering a remarkable focal range of 33-396mm, bringing you close enough to capture subtle expressions. The single built-in lens means you're always ready to shoot, with no need for bulky extra lenses or time-consuming lens changes. Picture Stabilization mode automatically sets the optimum shutter speed and sensitivity for each scene, preventing blur from camera shake or fast-moving subjects, even in low-light situations. Super Macro mode lets you move in as close as 2cm (0.8") making it easy to take high-impact full-frame close-ups. The Panorama Shooting Mode makes it easy to create impressive panoramic photos. This mode captures and combines up to 3 consecutive shots, which are saved to the memory card as a panoramic picture. The FinePix S1000fd automatically detects and corrects unsightly red-eye reflections that often spoil flash photos of people. A large, high resolution LCD with 230K Resolution makes it easy to compose great shots and to see photo details when you play back captured images. The high-resolution LCD can display up to 100 picture images simultaneously in 10x10 array. Use this micro thumbnail view to instantly select specific photos to view or print. A selection of tailored shooting modes provide ideal settings for everything from shutter speed and exposure to white balance. 1/2.3 CCD Sensor File format - JPEG (EXIF Ver 2.2) Aperture - F2.8 - F6.4 (Wide) / F5.0 - F8.0 (Telephoto), max 5 steps in 1/3 EV increment Shooting Modes - Portrait, Landscape, Sport, Night, Fireworks, Sunset, Snow, Beach, Museum, Party, Flower, Text, and PS (Picture Stabilization) Shutter speed - 1/4 second to 1/2000 second in Auto mode Self-timer - 10 seconds and 2 seconds delay Dimensions - Width 4.1 x Height 2.9 x Depth 2.7 (102.5x73x67.8mm) Weight - 11.5 ounces (325 grams)
Customer Review :
You need the exactly quantity of light
This camera take very good photos, but only with the exactly quantity of ligh. For example if the scene is dark with Flas the photo is saturate of light and on the contrary without flash the photo looks yello-dark using ISO 3200 and the resolution is 3M pixel.
Summarizing the dinamic range of light to take wonderfull photos is sharp or narrow. I supposed that this is the reason to cost around 220 dollars

most options for the price
The camera is a nice small size. Its very easy to use. Plenty of options to have variety but not so many that you need to take a photography class. High quality pictures. When I looked at a picture of my new puppy that I took with this camera you could actually see the individual hairs on the dog. This will be the only excellent quality camera with 10mp and 12x that you will find for the under 220.00 price. I highly recommend.

Taos to Coos Bay
My wife and I just used this camera on vacation,it was a new piece of equipment for us, but the on screen prompts made it easy to select the appropriate setting for our photos. The prompts are brief descriptions of each setting. We loved to powerful zoom and got some pretty clear wildlife shoots with it. Its a nice high end amature camera, a LCD lens cover would have been a nice addition, and a auto night setting would be nice too, but overall it is a great little camera that shoots very nice pictures with ease.

Fujifilm Finfix S1000fd 10MP Digital Camera 12X Optical Zoom
This is the first time I bought a Fujifilm, but not the last! It is really a great little SLR. Great pictures and features for a very low price. To make the flash work, you have to push a button. I LOVE that manual flash. Did you ever shoot inside, where you have to set the camera to turn off the flash ....and then the camera shuts off....and you have to set the camera to turn off the flash again? Not a problem here! The only thing negative (pardon the pun) is the cheep shoulder strap that comes with the camera. Mel

Fujifilm Camera
I am in no way a proficient photographer. I wanted a camera that would be easy to use and yet had a variety of settings to allow filming under various circumstances. This camera provided me with everything I needed. I was taking pictures right out of the box in the auto setting and reading the instruction manual allowed me to use various settings to achieve the effects I wanted. I think it's a very good camera for the uninitiated like myself to get into photography at a very reasonable price.

So far so good!
So far this camera had proven to be a sensible investment. I bought it based on the good reviews I read here on Amazon, and I am yet to regret the purchase. It produces high quality shots in a variety of shooting conditions. I compared the camera with a friends higher priced canon and it held its own. Even beating out her camera in a few areas. I would definitely suggest that you pick one up for yourself!

Housed in a compact body just 19mm thick, the FinePix J10 incorporates an 8.2 Megapixel CCD sensor, a 2.5" LCD and a 3x Fujinon optical zoom lens. The FinePix J10 uses Fujifilm's Picture Stabilization Mode to reduce blurry images that can be caused by camera shake or subject movement especially in low light settings. Automatically choosing the correct light sensitivity and best-matching shutter speed, the FinePix J10 helps to freeze the action and produce the highest-quality digital pictures without the blur and noise often associated with low-light photographs.
Customer Review :
Great Point and Shoot Camera
I purchased this camera for a recent vacation and found it to be an excellent choice. The Finepix is an easy to use point and shoot camera.
The pictures it takes are very clear - this is probably a result of Fujifilm's Picture Stabilization Technology. I took pictures from a moving bus, and they look as if I'm standing still.
The camera is good in low light at a reasonable distance. We took pictures of the Las Vegas Strip at night, and they look amazing. However, we also took pictures in a very dim room and found that unless the object you were focusing on was close at hand, it was very difficult to see in the picture. The low light pictures still very clear.
The 3X zoom was perfect for every picture that I wanted to take and made items look close enough for a good shot.
In sum, this is an excellent purchase for the price. I recommend this camera to anyone wanting to take basic, good pictures.

Great Little Camera!
I was very impressed with this camera. The picture quality was supurb and it was very easy to use. For those of you who are clumbsy or have kids that want to look at the picture you took "right away" this camera is perfect. Why do I say that? My last camera ( a Canon, which I also loved dearly) had a retractable lens. My son accidently dropped the camera on a carpeted surface and the lens bent and would not retract. Thus, my investment had to be trashed. The Fuji does not have a retractable lens and thus the problem has been eliminated! The bright colors are awesome! I am still learning about all the features, but I would recommend this camera to anyone!

Great camera for the price and features.
I sell this, among other cameras at a retail store. So I knew what I wanted and liked before I purchased this.
Canon is pretty much the best, but it lacks a couple of things I wanted, that this camera has, such as a non-telescoping lens, and a dedicated movie button. The menu system is nice, and relatively easy to navigate, but does kick you out once you make a selection, which can get annoying, especially when first setting it up.
The only really big downside for me is the fact that the zoom button isn't by the shutter. Since it is on the backside of the camera with the screen, it is hard to use one handed.
Overall, the pros outweighed the cons. This isnt the absolute best camera, but for the price, its great, which is why I gave it four, instead of five stars.

I have one Fuji camera, and this is the 2nd one I've purchased. I am so not disappointed! I love it! This is the only brand of digital camera I will ever buy. The features are wonderful, and the pictures ALWAYS turn out fantastic, even though I'm probably the worst photographer ever.

Excellent 'budget' Camera, Sub-par if you're used to mid-grade cameras.
I bought this camera to replace my Kodak V603 Easyshare camera. I was looking to replace it with another like-quality camera, but with added megapixels & features. The Kodak originally cost me $279, so when I found this Fujifilm Finepix 10 megapixel camera for only $159, I was thrilled! I figured I would be getting WAY more bang for my buck. And on paper, it seemed like it had almost every feature that other, higher priced cameras have (like Canon's Powershot cameras). Well, I was disappointed after only a few hours. It takes lovely brightly colored pictures, INCREDIBLE close-up macro shots, but the shutter speed and response time left something to be desired. Also, the pictures all turned out a bit grainy, and with lots of purple edges when zoomed in all the way.
What it comes down to is quality of parts. Yes, this camera does everything it says it will, but not as well as higher priced cameras. You get what you pay for.
If you're just looking for a fun point & shoot camera, and aren't picky about details, this would be an excellent camera. But don't replace a mid-grade camera with this one. You'll end up let down.
I returned it and got the Canon Powershot SD1100, and am finally satisfied.

Fujifilm Finepix 10MP camera is by far the best digital cam I have ever used. I have a higher end Canon 8MP and this blows those pix away. Ease of use and small portable size along with easy connectivity make this a real winner. BTW it cost $600 less than the Canon.

Questions & Answers
Question : Do you know what kinda battery the Fuji Z10 digital camera uses?
i am interested in purchasing the Fujifilm FinePix Z10fd 7.2-Megapixel Digital Camera-pink. Is anybody aware of what sort of battery it uses?? And is it a good camera? Any problems?
Answer:
NP-45
The sites that I found talked about how the battery didn't last long too.

Question : Where can I find a case for the Fuji S700 digital camera?
I don't want anything like a camcorder case, if you know what I mean. I only want a case for the camera, no extra storage or something fancy like that...
Answer:
Well, at this point, Fuji doesn't make a camera only case for the S700, so it's unlikely you'll find one. The best you might be able to do is use an existing case for another camera that fit's it closely enough.
Alternatively other companies do offer holster bags made to fit just the camera and at most an additional flat pocket for memory cards, lens cleaning cloth, etc. I'd look at bags from Lowe Pro or Tamrac.
HTH.

Question : Fuji digital camera is very cheap. Do I have any reasons not to buy it?
I just compared it with other brand with the same spec. Fuji is about 40-50% cheaper than other popular brands. Is it worse than others?
Answer:
They actualyl pretty good, Fujifilm camera to digital kinda late compare to other, but fujifilm was like the king in film camera. Fujifilm Digital camera has some of the very best camera sensor and great design. However it lack some friendly mode scene as other offer, but fuji does take very nice picture.
|
Question : what is the likely cost of sending a fuji digital camera to fuji for a minor repair?
what is the likely cost of sending a fuji digital camera to fuji for a minor repair?
Answer:
courier will be around $10. usually they will call you when they get your camera and determine what's wrong and tell you how much it costs. a "minor" repair could be under $100. you can call their customer service phone number and they might have an idea as to the cost.
I would shop around and get prices for new cameras so when they call you to tell you how much it is you'll know if it's better to buy a new one.
|
Question : extra zoom lenses for the Fuji finepix s700 digital camera.?
I was wondering what kind of extra zoom lenses can be purchased for the Fuji s700 digital camera. If I can buy extra lenses, where would I find them. I am from Canada. I will mostly use this camera at a race track 80% of the time it will be night.
Answer:
It has a 10X optical zoom. Fuji doesn't offer any "front lens" add-ons. There may be some "after market" ones offered but they would probably be a waste of money.

Question : fuji digital camera reverts back to japanese?
Fuji F10 camera purchased in Japan, has started corrupting files making precious photos unreadable on a computer but they can be viewed on the camera. Re-formatting the XD memory card is the only answer to making it usable again. Another issue is that the camera settings revert back to original Japanese and the date resets back to 2005 at random. Fuji tech support did not recognise the fault and their only recomendation was to return camera for service but this investigation would cost more than a new camera. Anyone else experienced similar problems?
the camera is not designed exclusively for the Japanese market. It is identical to the F10 available in Britain.
Answer:
FUJI cameras often have Firmware Updates, which you should try prior to return it to FUJI for servicing!
Here's the link for your model.
Help that solves your problems ;-)

Question : Anyone know of a great Olympus or Fuji point-and-shoot digital camera?
I'm looking for details here... I have lots of xD memory and my camera has gone belly up... anyone have feedback on current Olympus or Fuji digital cameras?
Answer:
Between those two brands...sorry, but Olympus is a brand I would never consider (due to it's so-so photo quality).
The Fujifilm Finepix F30, however, is a compact point & shoot camera that performs extremely well in low light (high ISO, handheld, no flash). No other compact can compete with it in this area. I would buy it for that capability alone.
So, if you want a compact camera particularly for low light situations, then it's the one to get. It also has great battery life of up to 580 shots.
The newer, F31 fd, is a minor update but hasn't been reviewed as yet.
But, if you ever decide to invest in SD memory, then have a look at Canon ;-)
