Don't waste your money - It's junk
The size and features are great, but worthless if the camera won't hold a charge. I've made mutliple phone calls and had to pay $95 for a repair that didn't work. The camera was less than a year old, but I didn't have the original receipt so they wouldn't honor the warrenty. I received the camera as a gift last Christmas and, the original purchasor did not keep the receipt. I've been dealing with Casio for months now. I do have the original box, manuals and everything else. The camera still looks brand new because I could only use it a couple of times before it quit holding a charge.
Similar to another reviewer's experience, the repair center will hold your camera hostage once you send it in. If you don't have the original receipt, your choices are to pay for the repair (roughly half the original cost of the camera), buy someone else's repaired, used camera with a new warrenty for even more money, or send in money for shipping to get your broken camera back.
Casio has been less than helpful. I would not recommend buying anything from this company, especially this camera.
I've gone back to my old Cannon digital camera. It's bigger, but at least it works.

EASY TO USE
This camera is easy to use and gives you great photos. This is my third Casio and I love it. When I'm taking pictures of my grandchildren, I put it on 'continuous' and then keep 'snapping' -- there's always a some good ones in there. And it's easy to shoot videos --- simply press the red button and that's all there is to it.

very disappointing
I wanted a thin camera for vacations/travel. This fit and the reviews looked good. However the pictures were very disappointing. We went on a cruise and the majority of outdoor pictures (pretty normal travel pics)are exposed badly; too dark, no clarity. Example: many pictures taken from the balcony of our room looking at a nearby island are not even focused, you can't see any detail of the island (too dark); pictures of the boat from standing outside are too dark. Dozens of other bad pictures. Flash consistently washed out the subject being photo'd. Truly amazingly bad pictures. Of course there could always be a user issue, however I've got other digital cameras (old Sony 3.2) that has always given outstanding pictures. The point of these cameras is to take out user issues and give great pictures. This camera doesn't seem to able to do it.

I am very unhappy, I bought the camera to take to a district athletic event, but the battery wouldn't charge, so needless to say, I couldn't take it. I had seen such good reviews of this camera, but am very disappointed.

The optical failure
I received my Exilim EX-Z1200 camera two days ago and turned it on twice. The second time I turned it on the telephoto casing jammed and would not close. The camera doesn't work now. I did not even get the charger out of the wrapper. I just got off the phone with Casio, they did not help at all. Yes, I am looking to get it replaced so now I will try to see what Amazon can do for me.

Hot Camera when left on?
Did anyone that noticed that the camera was a bit HOT when you left it on and using the telephoto zoom or left it on too long? I called Casio and they tell me it wasn't suppose to do that. they suggested I send it to have it check out. at 199.99 (you think?)
Update: 11/18/2008 - I sent it in for repairs it was covered so i am glad. I only pay for postage and insurance, which is not a biggie. look at it this way, I would have spent over 300.00 for the same camera and deal with the same crap all over again. but for 199.00 hell!!!

Great little camera
As an enthusiastic owner of Casio's EX-Z850, I was curious to see how they had updated that model, so purchased a refurb Z1200, and am quite happy with it though still like the Z850 and continue to use it.
Pros: the Z1200 looks nicer aesthetically, has 12.1 Mp of course, and has better antishake, and a larger viewscreen, battery is same as in the Z850 and battery life appears to be just as long, which was one of the best features of the Z850. Movie mode is practically HD quality albeit at 24fps. I like the adjustable flash intensity, which is good for macro mode. The face recognition mode sounds pretty impressive technically, but I doubt if I will ever use that, and it wasnt a consideration for me.
Cons: for me, the Quicktim MOV movie format is a step backwards, compared to the AVI format of the Z850, as my video editor will not take it directly and I have to do a conversion step. Also, the frame rate of 24fps is slower than the 30fps of the Z850 and the motion in movies does appear noticeably jerkier than in the Z850. Also the shot-shot delay time seems longer in the Z1200 than the Z850, it seems to take about 2 seconds in the Z1200, and about 1 second in the Z850 (both at max res superfine quality). The absence of the mode select wheel is a minor annoyance, I find it hard to get used to the new scheme of selecting shooting mode, which takes more time to select an option. After a month of using it, I still find myself preferring the Z850 because of the mode select wheel, and the AVI movie format.
Overall, a very attractive, easy to use, and powerful camera with excellent picture quality!

I GOT BURNED. BAD.
Although this camera took good pictures and was user friendly, it broke down after only two months. I sent it to Casio repair and they said it had suffered water corrosion and the damage was NOT covered by warranty. I did not get it wet, take it out in the rain, or treat it badly...yet it broke down in almost no time...and I am out $300 bucks. So, I MUST warn anyone considering buying it: WHY TAKE THE CHANCE WITH A CAMERA SO OBVIOUSLY FRAGILE?? DON'T DO IT!!
Needless to say, I'll NEVER buy a Casio camera again.

Great but I was waiting for more...
Ok, this cam is very very good, it takes great pics but only when you are close to the person... I know, it only has 3X Zoom but I wasn't expecting it to be so poor!!! My cellphone (Nokia N73) take better pictures using zoom than the ones taken with my Camera!!! I couldn't believe it!!! In general the cam is great, it is totally user friendly and easy to set... but if zoom is something that matter to you consider buying something else!!!

Great Little Camera
December 27 After exhaustive research here and on Consumer Reports, I was convinced that there was no really good small camera, but I was wrong. A salesman in a camera store recommended this model and I am glad I bought it. It's fast, and the menu is easy to use. True, there is no viewfinder, but I like the 3" LCD. Picture quality is very good and rivels that of my Nikon D40X/sigma 18-200mm lens. I would recommend this product to anyone.
December 29 After a few days of foul weather, I took this camera out to try it in the sunlight, snow and bright sky. Photos continue to be true to color as seen by the eye. I used a tripod which produced some really clear scenes.
The "set" button on the back of the camera allows me to access the camera's settings ( ISO,etc.) easily and quickly. I especially like the ability to quickly change the EV. And, the battery still has not shown any diminshed power after some significant use.
The fotos tend to be a bit grainy in low light...but that's without a flash.
I continue to enjoy this camera and would recommend it to anyone.

Easy To Operate
The camera is user friendly so you don't have to go through several buttons to find what you are looking for. My wife likes the 3 inch screen which clearly shows what the camera is going to shoot in vivd color without straining your eyes. I strongly recommend a minimum of 1GB SD card and preferably a 4 GB SD card for the camera to maximize the resolution on your photos without running out of memory. If you are using the camera for video you should probably get a 10 GB SD card.

review of the Casio Exilim EX-Z150SR
The only thing about this camera I would change is the size of the maneuver controls. I have medium sized hands and I find I have to be careful when pressing the controls. I really do like the 3" LCD screen, however, and the small size of the camera makes it convenient to carry anywhere. I have only used it at Thanksgiving but was happy with the photos I took.

Questions & Answers
Question : I have a Casio digital camera and I don't know how to save videos onto my computer from the library. Help?
Basically I click upload and then it sends me straight to the library. When i try to save videos they don't do anything when I click in the file I saved them to. My friend has a Casio and says something else pops up that you can save things from, but nothing else pops up with my library. What should I do? The Casio camera help section doesn't contain anything about videos.
Answer:
The easiest way is to buy a multi CARD READER. Then connect the card reader to your USB port, wait until the driver is automatically installed, then get your memory stick from your Casio camera and insert it to the appropriate place in the card reader. When it is done, you can browse from Explorer and copy paste your files. Good Luck

Question : Does anyone know where I can find a new usb cable for my Casio Exilim EXZ75 digital camera?
I recently lost the usb cable for my Casio Exilim EXZ75 digital camera. Someone told me to get a card reader. Does a card reader work the same way? Which is better an usb cable or card reader?
Answer:
The USB cable applicable to your camera is proprietary. You can search the internet to find it, but contacting Casio is the easiest. Expect to pay $40+ for a new cable.
Even better, just grab a card reader. It does almost everything. In terms of transferring photos, it works better (they're faster). If you want the advanced software upgrade features, or want to download images from the internal memory then you will need the cable. Note that software updates are not recommended to be taken on my novices and internal memory images can be copied to a memory card in the camera.
Where to find a card reader? Well your computer might already have it. HP/Compaq has had them for a while on many models. If your computer has it, it will be on the front of your computer and one will be markes SD.
If your computer doesn't have it, buy one. They start at around $15 at local stores and can be as low as $2 on http://dealextreme.com (expect to wait 4-6weeks for shipping and questionable quality). You want an SD card reader, but a multi-reader can't hurt. It'll plug into any USB port.

Question : what do you think of this brand of digital camera casio exilim?
the modle # of the on im looking at is ex-100
what do u think of the brand?
Answer:
As a photography enthusiast I'll answer it this way:
It seems to me to be more an accessory than a photographic tool. It seems that the main market for it is those who like the cameras to be small, stylish and match the color of their dress or shirt.
It also takes snapshots - it is probably going to work for family album style photos. I would not count on it to be useful for tricky lightning, or any kind of manual control. Also the tiny sensor will not allow it to perform well in low light, so either use a flash in close range (1-2 meters) indoors, or in broad daylight outdoors. So basically - if you don't expect to do artistic photography, but simply look for a camera that will take basic "I am on vacation" shots, but also matches your hair style, you may as well go for it.
On the bright side - this is a kind of camera that will fit into shirt pocket or the tiniest of purses, so it can go with you just about anywhere. And of course if you physically can't take a bigger camera with you - a poorer quality shot taken with this camera is infinitely better than no shot at all taken by your big and high quality camera you left at home.

Question : Casio Digital Camera Control?
I was wondering if there is a remote controller for my Casio Exilim EX-Z77 Digital Camera. I mean like a TV remote except for a camera; for taking pictures and videos without touching the camera.
I am aware of the self-timer, but I mostly need it to end videos more quickly. If there is one for sale compatible with my camera, please give me the link. If you can find codes, please give them to me. If you know for sure that this camera cannot receive infrared codes, please notify me. Thanks!
Answer:
There are attachments which will enable cameras to take pictures with remote control. But sorry to say that that is none for your camera.

Question : What type of charger does a Casio EZ-Z1000 Digital Camera.?
I have the Casio Exilim EZ-Z1000 digital camera. And i don't have the charger. I'm wondering what I should ask for i buying the charger completely separate.
What type of charger does it use?
Answer:
I assume that your model is actually the EX-Z1000. That model uses the NP-40 battery. I would do an eBay, Google or Amazon search for that battery model, and you should find something that will work.

Question : Which one is better, a Casio Digital Camera or a Cannon one?
I am trying to decide on which digital to buy. Which one is better brand or is better item? I looked on amazon.com for a Casio EX-Z60 silver and black (is the color the only difference?) 6MP
(http://www.amazon.com/Casio-Exilim-EX-Z60-Digital-Optical/dp/B000EIZJ7M/ref=pd_ys_qtk_rvi_img/105-1954375-7491603) and Cannon PowerShot SD-600 6MP (http://www.amazon.com/Canon-PowerShot-Digital-Camera-Optical/dp/B000EMWBT2/ref=pd_ys_qtk_rvi_img/105-1954375-7491603).
Which one is better and more reliable? Please I am open to suggestions. Would you recommend any other brand and model? I am looking for something compact, small in size and that can be taken any where.
Answer:
I would recommend the Canon. I have the SD700 IS and it's a fantastic little camera. I'm sure you would be very happy if you bought a Canon.
Here is a quote from a review of the Casio EX-Z60...
"A nifty ultracompact undermined by poor photo quality, the Casio Exilim EX-Z60 isn't your best choice.""Casio's Exilim EX-Z60 makes a better fashion accessory than a camera. If you're looking for style and photographic substance in the same price range, I suggest you check out Canon's SD series"
