I was EXTREMELY disappointed at best

I was torn between buying this Canon powershot SD1100IS or a Nikon Coolpix S550. After looking at reviews on several sites I went with the Canon because it had really good reviews and the Nikon did not.

I got home with the Canon and knew the first 5 minutes that I HATED it! I couldn't get a decent picture. Everything looked grainy or blurry and my children's skin tone kept coming up extremely orange and unnatural. I was pretty upset. But I tried to give it the benefit of the doubt, I read the owners manual and played around with the setting for about an hour and a half. After all that 99% of the pictures I took were still awful! And the other 1% were just so so.

I was EXTREMELY disappointed by this camera. You shouldn't have to try so hard to get even one somewhat decent picture. I took the camera back after 2 hours and got a refund and bought the Nikon I had wanted. The Nikon takes 1000x's better pictures and I wish I'd just gone with it in the first place!

Great camera

This is a great point and shoot camera. I've used it for a week now. I've taken pictures of at an air show with the Thunderbirds, and lots of pictures of my 1-year grandson (which is definitely a challenge). It has been great. I wish the zoom was a bit more, but it's OK. It took some time learning the basics and there's still a lot more I need to learn to utilize all of the features.

The little Canon camera that COULD!!!!

First of all, Amazon delivered this product very efficiently regarding its standard Supersavers shipping. Regarding the product, it is almost perfect for an 8mp camera, however, the red-eye reduction feature does not work to my expectations. Besides that, the image stabilization is great, the shooting modes are exceptional (best to offer in the industry) and the choice of colors (I picked bohemian brown because the playback on the LCD with pics and vids show up the better than with any other color) are very nice. Overall, you are getting a lot of nice features with a very compact camera that is easy to carry in your pocket or purse. If you are like me (very particular with what you buy), save yourself the time of shopping and get this camera. It is without a doubt the best "bang for your buck" when it comes to competitively priced point and shoot cameras that offer a ton of features.

Astonishing

I wanted to buy a camera for my graduation event. One of my friend recommended me Cannon. I was really amazed by its picture quality. And top of all, it has automatic noise-reducing feature. I would definitely recommend this product.

Question : Which one is better: Nikon D40 6.1MP DSLR vrs Canon Digital Rebel XT 8MP DSLR
Hello, i want to buy a semi-pro camera for my wife. By reading around and my budget, I between this two option (Nikon D40 6.1MP with a cost of $490 and Canon Digital Rebel XT 8 MP with a cost of $450). Help me decide which one the best and why

Answer:
They are pretty much equal, so the only difference is which one feels better in your wife's hands. If this is a gift, try a gift certificate and let her go to the store and pick out which one she likes and feels right in her hands. If it's a gift where she knows it's coming, then take her out to the store, let her handle both cameras and see which one feels "better" to her. She may prefer one camera over another for button layouts, menu, overall build quality, how it feels in her hands, etc. Personally, I prefer the Nikon, but because cameras are very personal items, I strongly suggest that you and she actually handle both cameras before reaching a decision.

Question : Samsung Digimax S800 8.1MP Digital Camera OR Canon Powershot A630 8MP Digital Camera
Which one out of these cameras is better Does it matter which company is better Please let me know and tel me specs.....b/c im novice when it comes to cameras thnxs

Answer:
Both are fine cameras ... any of the cameras listed here will suit most P&S camera operators. http://www.dpreview.com In this case the Canon edges out the Samsung because of its larger 4x optical zoom.
